Hunters Guild

This new NPC guild, which is made up of big-game hunters, archers and rangers, will lead you on a series of quests to hunt down and kill rare, unique and legendary beasts scattered throughout Tamriel. There’s no other objective but to explore the land while hunting worthy game. You’ll have a Hunters Log that shows which animals you need to hunt down.

In addition to adding new content, a new Hunter Skill Line would be added. It would allow access to abilities such as: Detect Animal, Hunters Trap, Throwing Javelin, Skinning (skin animals for crafting materials, such as meat), Summon Animal Companion (e.g. hawk, wolf), Fog Cloud, Barkskin.

The Hunters Guild Hall would be located somewhere off the beaten path (e.g. middle of a forest) and managed by a few renowned hunters and rangers. This is where you would get your hunting contracts or quests. These quests would add relatively difficult overland content to the game. The main antagonist of the quest line would be centered around the cult of Hircine, the Daedric Prince of the Hunt.

The year ESO takes place is in the second era, in 2E 583, 262 years after the Guild Act was passed in the Empire. Many sanctioned guilds popped up very quickly. The Hunters Guild is entirely lore friendly. Thoughts?

I wouldn't mind an additional guild. Consider me 60/40 in favor of the idea.

i rather like this idea. could unlock new pve skills/abilities that deal damage to specific targets, sorta like slayer in runescape?

would be cool to impliment new overworld monsters, monsters that have a secondary mitigation. one of the passives under the hunter skillline could be a passive that penetrates this secondary penetration for those new overworld monsters. the higher level hunter yo uare, the easier it is to kill these creatures

It's not something I specifically want, but if this existed I'd definitely play this content and use at least a few of those skills. Nice job.

other passives could include a search ability that tells ya how close the monster is, if any are around. and as that levels up the search radius increases. the new overworld monster could possibly only spawn when certian conditions are met, i na random location in said zone.

and finally it could tie into a new mythic item, saviors hide, where you need to hunt down 5 of the toughest creatures then combind their hides together to create that mythic.

Sounds good, but some abilities (trap and skinning) are already represented in game. The second isn't even require a special skill... And not sure that animal summoning is needed, because we have non-combat pets, and ZOS could make them useful for tracking or something related.

Agreed. I was just throwing out some ideas. I would enjoy having a wolf animal companion that can help in combat...

No point. You could roleplay a hunters guild without there needing to be a skill line or anything. Just pretend that bosses, mini-bosses, wild animals etc are your targets etc ands there you go.

thats a pointless remark. you could RP you;re hutning for rare treasures, or rp you;re a nord when you;re a elf..

Yes, so RP a Hunters Guild, because we really don't need it to be a skill line.

The Dark Brotherhood are the hunters.

The Dark Brotherhood are highly trained assassins, not hunters. This should be obvious, but hunters go into the wild and kill game for food/sport while assassins kill people. Not a rational argument.

Reminds me of RDR2 with hunting certain very rare animals.

To the OP not sure how or why they would do this. Dragons that are a group event died down very fast and a lot of WBs are probably craving attention from anyone.

Would the animals/monsters be a group challenge and how would they differ from WBs, Dragons, and the Animals that are already in-game? Animals can already be sent to sithis for mats, so I am curious as to what the incentives are for ZOS to do this....

I think this is a fantastic idea. Would bring another guild into the game, and wouldn't need too much modification to the world to work well.

Instead of a Guild, it could be Dailies. Go hunt a specific randomly spawned beast somewhere. Or, go kill a certain number of normally existing beasts in a certain zone or area.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Already one of those in Vvardenfell. Having one added to all the zones would be pretty spiffy.

I actually love this idea. In Skyrim, hunting wild game was a fun part of the experience for me. I would love to see that implemented here in ESO as a guild.

Not sure if you are deliberately misunderstanding this hyperbolic euphemistic boast based on an NPC's actual description of the Dark Brotherhood that the poster is referring to? Hail Sithis!
