I know this is a sensitive subject in the game, due to the Maelstrom Arena incident...But, if done correctly, what would people think about these?
I personally would really like to see these, not because it could potentially give us some more character power, but because it would make Hard Mode more worthwhile.
At the moment, outside of achievements and undaunted keys, Hard Mode really isn't worth grinding at all. It currently goes like this:
- Normal Dungeon = blue gear + achievements
- Veteran Dungeon = purple gear + achievements + monster helm
- Hard Mode = achievements + monster helm
I don't really know how this could be implemented correctly, but it would be safe to presume that the Hard Mode boss would drop the perfected monster helm. Regarding the shoulders, there would have to be a rework done on the chests and keys (potentially normal = 1 key, vet = 2 key, HM = 3 key and then work the chest rewards off of that).
I get that people do not like to grind all over again, and the issue was that last time it was basically a nerf to their current items (you had to complete vet to get the Maelstrom weapons before they added perfected tier rewards). But, this way, it doesn't really do that as it doesn't replace any current drops.
The other thing to discuss is, what would the extra stat be? Or, would it even be an extra stat, could it just be a buff on the already existing stats?
