Morrowind / clockwork was the best

I wish ZOS could get back to the quality they had uth this chapter and dlc.

The trials are the best in the game: HoF and Asylum

The public dungeons and delves in vvardenfell are gorgeous and interesting and huge. The quests are intriguing original and well acted. The scenic safe on point. The monsters were cool. Everything is top notch.

Summer set was a huge let down after this - for me personally, not sure if everyone feels the same - and it’s recovered a little since then but still hasn’t come close to morrowind / clockwork.

Fingers crossed for the future. Dead lands is promising, but these two new dungeons - though beautiful and interesting- are a CONPLETE disappointment in terms of complexity and difficulty.

Elsweyr was incredible, but Morrowind also. Summerset was good, Greymoor is very underwhelming. Blackwood... I hope the region is nice, but I think nothing will beat Elsweyr. It was simply fantastic.

You must not have ever played the original desktop version of Morrowind. They slaughtered it online. There is so much missing, a lot of great stories including the main. There are buildings after buildings you can't access. Locked doors everywhere! I am very disappointed with the chapter. Honestly to the point of pissed off. I was already playing ESO when it was released so I had to buy it ($69?) separate so really pissed off lol. I mean they never even finished building Vivec City. There's no Morag Tong, all the sewer and it's stories no where to be found. The only thing they got right on was the beginning city of Seyda Neen. Believe me, I'm not one to complain about this game cause I really love it. But no they completely messed up Morrowind. It is the worst chapter they added to the game in my opinion. Really concerned with the Blackwood Chapter - Gates of Oblivion. If they mess that up I swear!!! lol

Did you know that ESO takes place some 800ish years before the events of TES III? That's why Vivec City is still under construction and the main quest from TES III isn't a thing.

ESO DLCs have been bad about the locked door after locked door thing- Elsweyr was the absolute worst in terms of this- so I feel you there.

MMOs are a lot different than single-player games, so I wouldn't get yourself too hyped about how they recreate the Oblivion part. There's just no way to replicate the feeling of a single-player game.

But yeah, TES III >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> literally everything

Every party needs a pooper, that's why they invited me, Party Pooper ...

Morrowind: too many of those 'Sneak into this or that restricted zone and get a bounty' quests.

    Summerset: LOVED it.

Elsweyr: Liked it, but the theme music reminded me of the first few notes of 'Major Tom (Coming Home)' by Peter Schilling, so it would go through my head the entire time.

Greymoor: Haven't actually finished it yet.

Blackwood: I loved crashing Oblivion Gates in IV. I bet they're not going to let me go home with a sigil stone to add to a weapon or armor. I think that game's why I fly into a rage and start smashing Spider Daedra with everything I have before they shoot out that 'mini-me'.

I've loved all the single player TES games since Arena released. Yeah... I've played them all for many thousands of hours over time. Each of them was a favorite - until the next released. I just tried replaying Daggerfall - but the first person viewpoint (which you can't change at least as far as I've been able to discover - I have the Daggerfall Unity version) messes with my vertigo to the point of actual illness so can't go there unfortunately.

And Oblivion, while I loved it when I played it for thousands of hours, today causes me acute heartburn with the potato faces. Yes OCO2 helps some - but after Skyrim and now ESO.... well....

I suppose that I should be thinking only of the stories by now - but somehow, if I can't make a character who looks the way I want.... it's anything but optimal. *must be my shallow mind....*

The one thing I didn't like in Oblivion was the MQ, unlike all the previous ones - I far preferred Daggerfall and Arena - Morrowind was an angle I wasn't really interested in (don't do TG or DB) but the overall MQ was okay (I just didn't really get deep into that - I was happy to join a Great House etc without thinking too much about the TG and DB). That continued with Skyrim - I have ZERO use for wars, especially civil wars, in games I play, though I was really happy I could trash the DB in Skyrim.

So revisiting Oblivion gates isn't going to make me happy - but it's nothing new for me to totally ignore some game's MQ....

I actually completely forgot about the timetables. I guess since Seyda Neen started the exact same way as the single-player did...I had high expectations! Yes I do get the difference from single player to MMOs. But its not that often that one was literally created because of the fanbase they got with the single player version. Any person I talk to says the same thing. They are just disappointed with Morrowind. If you're going to add a zone that was from the original game, they should have at least tried to have more similarities than what we got. But I get ya with the period in time.

And that's been my major issue since I started playing ESO. Everything looks the same as thousands of years later.... in a non-tech culture (though there is of course magic - “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” Arthur C Clarke
