and I assure you of the magnificent work that has been done since 2007 to 2020 for the development of this mythology .

✭✭✭✭✭Elder Scrolls Online is probably top tier among its relevant peers (aka, MMORPGs) when it comes to storytelling and world building, both of which are essential elements of role-playing. It's why I play it.
When compared to RPGs as a whole though, it falls quite short. I don't find that comparison fair, however. MMO computer games are fundamentally different beasts than tabletop RPG sessions with friends or single-player RPGs that intend to mirror those sessions. Those are vastly superior in my book, but ESO isn't trying to be that and can't be that. It's as close to that as it can be without compromising its workability as an MMO. Good enough, I say!1
