***First off the teams that work on personal housing yall are amazing I don't know how yall do it***

I have a question though.

Okay, so I'm real estate shopping in ESO. I'm a Crown Store Exclusive/Manor/Large house kinda guy...(don't judge me I need my space) With that being said...I'm going to have houseguests, merchants, bankers, AND assistants walking all through the spot.

When my companion arrives home in a few months I'm not trying to have all these people looking up in our faces during the roleplay parts...

***WHERE THE DOORS AT!?*** lol we need our privacy I can't have people coming in and out of the bedroom. I look at the homes in Elder Scrolls Skyrim and all those houses have privacy doors where I can open and close to the bedrooms.

I SURE DID get the free Grand Villa and I did notice that there are two instanced rooms off to the side. The problem is...this gonna be our vacation home...It's in the middle of literally nowhere and yea that's not gonna be the main spot.

Anyways did yall notice that none of the houses have privacy doors? How yall feel about it? all day yesterday I was house shopping and was like "I dont know if this gonna work for us." :D like those people on that HGTV show looking at homes.

Anyways what do yall think? Can we start getting homes with privacy doors or separate instanced bedrooms?

Would yall want this? DO yall even care? :D

***EDIT: there are other homes with instanced rooms within them. Tel Galen, Thieves Oasis, Bastion Sanguinaris, and Grand Psijic Villa...my bad.***

I reaaaaallllllyyy like the aesthetic of Imperials and I'm hoping the update in a few months will have an Imperial style house with instanced rooms :#

My one complaint with the upcoming Varlaisvea Ayleid Ruins, is that as absolutely monstrous as they are, there doesn't appear to be a single door anywhere. Was really looking forward to decorating the place, but if there isn't even a partitioned area and it's all just open to the elements, not sure I'd want to use it as an actual home. A shame, because the beach is beautiful and there really is quite a lot of space, a single room (with a DOOR) would have been nice to have as a bedroom.

I admit when there was talk about "what would replace feathers" I was hoping for a "spare room"

I'll re-post here what I said at the time:

What about a spare room? An adjunct to any of your houses/apartments?

Say with an event ticket you could buy:
    Door
    Knob
    Doorframe
    Lintel

Those are the basic parts of the "Door to the Spare Room" and would equate to the "feathers"

Once you get them all, you can combine them into a "pocket room" which is roughly equivalent to the free houses (i.e. one squarish room with neutral walls, floor); the space would allow for similar item/furnishing limits.

-Considered "a service" so limits on how many you can access from any given house
-No traveling to other houses; you go "from your house into the spare room" and back, that's it.
-No placing a Spare Room inside another Spare Room.
-No placing a "service" inside a Spare Room.

But like an Indrik - you can "Evolve" - ahem let's call it "Renovate"

Like you can "upgrade" your Indrik with berried, you can "upgrade" your "pocket room" with...."Renovation [things]" maybe motif type things such that you would have a sort of overhaul of appearance similar to the basic motifs.

    Paint/stain/whitewash
    Flooring
    Repair/renovation
    Decor/Scheme

No I don't really like those four "names" for choices, they could probably be improved. But the point here is that right away you have potentially as many "Spare Room" motifs as you have racial or other motifs.

I.e "Argonian" renovation would include mud-like walls and ceilings, with maybe a small yellow round "window" in two walls; and a reed type floor appearance. "Murkmire" might have walls that look like stone with a mossy tinge.

There would be a LOT of possibilities here
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Elder Scrolls characters have their underpants and bra physically welded to their body at birth so none are required ;-)

More seriously there are door options in the game. The Akatosh chancel door is perhaps a bit extreme but there is also the solitude door arched wooden (craftable), and solitude archway stone (craftable) and the markath equivalent (rectangular rather than rounded top so easier to use - again craftable), and there is the door, sweet mother that comes up roughly yearly on the luxury furnishing vendor.

No door, boring, wood however - which is a bit of a gap that would be nice to see filled.

Do you know if these doors are interactable? They probably wouldn't fit in the existing house doorways.

Not really. There's a few doors that aren't linked to particular houses and most of them are linked to in-game activities. The doors are interactable and you may have to add some wall stuff to make it look it nice.
