One of the worst aspects of the new CP system is you need to get 30 CP before you can use them. Everything costs a minimum of 10 cp and you can only get 10 CP in a skill line after getting 30 CP.

The old system had skill like penetration where you could spend single CP. The new system desperately needs this so CP aren't wasted.

I dislike the new system less than I expected. Except, it seems obvious that certain slottable skills are much better than others and many of them won't ever be slotted
3 GOs, a General, and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP

    Not sure what your talking about, but this exists have you looked into the passive parts of the champion trees? that's where penetration is.

    Not sure what your talking about, but this exists have you looked into the passive parts of the champion trees? that's where penetration is.

    I think what he meant was not that there is no penetration star, but rather 99% of them require a minimum of 10 points to see any gain unlike the old system. Though 2.0 does have a few that go up by points, they all require slotting which them of limited use.

    I actually ran into this today on my second account. Ground out 15 CP and was a little disappointed I couldn't actually use them for anything to see an improvement.

    Technically there are some single point slottables in the mage tree. Magicka, Stamina, and Weapon/Spell Damage. They are near the bottom right.

    But those slottables are useless. The best slottables are already equipped (most of the new slottables will never be used) . They need to be able to add single CPs to non slottable passives. They used to have this in the other CP system , eg if you didnt have enough CP to get to the next stage, you could add to penetration or armor

    Now all the CP you get are useless until you get 30 new CP. Then you can get a stage (10 cp) in each of the constellations.

    Don't forget also that many of the old CP system allowed you to put in one at a time, but because of the jump points it didn't register until you put in a bunch. That was written in no official guides, but all of the external websites warned about that.

    Just because Mighty may have said "get 7.4% mitigation" didn't mean you were getting that. You had to put in 4 CP into that before it did anything, and then another 3 to get to the next point. There was no difference between putting in 37 vs. 42 points, just like there is in the new system.

    At least in the new one we have a visual that will tell us how much to put in to see an effect.

    The old system allowed you to put in a single point at a time and even implied that you got a benefit from that point, but in reality, it had jump points, just like this new system. They were just hidden from players. They have made those jump points visible in the new system so you aren't throwing points into a void.

    I would have preferred an option to be able to put 1 point into any of the stars, so that I could unlock the pathways to the ones I want, without having to spend 10 or more points on something that has no interest to me.

    Just enough to unlock the pathway not necessarily the passive/or slot-table, eg for the inspiration star in the craft tree instead of wasting 15 points to unlock the pathway to the next stars just put in one point, you don't get any bonuses with the one point but can put points into the next stars further along.

    Unfortunately unless something is adjusted in the future, we all have to unlock at least stage one of a node to keep progressing down a pathway. We'd all like to just pick and choose what's relevant for the content we are doing and the character we are building.

    yes I agree about the jump points, but the old system also had abilites where you could add 1 cp at a time and get a benefit. They were armor (resist), penetration and crit resist abilities. You could add one CP and get like 132 resist. No jump points.
