Library?

Sorry for the noob question, but I have spent a couple of hours on the internet and can’t seem to find an answer.
I have a couple of items in my inventory, such as The Litany of Blood that say they are in my library.
The only library I can find is the Lore library on the journal tab and they are not there.
What am I missing?

It might be "Shalidor's Library" which, hopefully not too much spoilers, is a special journal tab you unlock as a quest reward. Mage's Guild questline.

If you finished the Mages Guild quest and made the right choice, you get another tab in the lore library called "Eidetic Memory".

That's where you'll find them.

@Baron_Erich FYI, you need mages guild skill line level at the minimum of 6 in order to unlock/run the last quest.

Thanks for the quick answers.
Seems a little weird that you need a level 6 mage guild ability to see things like a list of houses and targets.

Well no, you can always just use the "physical" copy of the book from your inventory, the skill that gets unlocked is just some Big Brain Mage Power that lets you "memorize" a book the first time you read it, so you can read it again from anywhere through the magic of the journal UI.

Well yeah, I get that.
I just found it a bit confusing that after you read the boo, letter, whatever, it has a message that says this is already in your library.
I thought there might be a tab I was missing.

I mean, technically you are “missing” it until you unlock Eidetic Memory. It can be really confusing (understandably) for people who don’t know about that to see there’s supposedly some library without having any more info.

If you’re on PC/Mac, you can use the Lorebooks add-on to reveal the Eidetic Memory section (which always exists but is initially hidden) before doing the last Mages Guild quest.

I don't recall ever seeing a message like that except on things like recipes, blueprints, motifs, etc. Is there some add-on that displays a message like that when you read books?
