CP 2.0 Healer Theorycrafting - Time to give defensive sets a look?

I was reading a lot about the incoming CP 2.0 system and the added health DPS may need to carry to have roughly the same survivability as they did in CP 1.0 (roughly 23-26k HP), and that got me thinking that perhaps a healer equipped with a defensive set such as Brands of the Imperium or Combat Physician would benefit the group by allowing the DPS to simply ignore additional investment into survivability and just focus on DPS? For my healer builds, this means I would have to drop a group sustain set or jorvalds guidance, but perhaps it would be worthwhile if it allowed the DPS to ignore investment into survivability perks/stats.

Anyone who has actually played the patch as a DPS have any thoughts on that?

I wish but I did vhrc and we survived better. Like things what killed us last week didn't. This was day one on launch with all but one guy at cp 1000+. The other was cp 300

Uptime on Brands of Imperium is too low to be a reliable defense against one-shots. Prayer Shawl is similar in that it can only stay up on three members of your group at a time, and one of them is likely to be the tank.

Combat Physician can actually have pretty good uptime, but it only procs from crit heals on targets below 100% health, so it's more useful for continuous damage over time or for recovering from near-one-shots.

I actually really like Combat Physician as an emergency burst "heal", but it's not a substitute for higher HP/mitigation.

Brands is actually quite decent, provided you stay within the radius. 50% uptime on a 12k shield is pretty solid, all it requires is getting hit, which means it's likely more suitable for the tank rather than the healer. The higher health that everyone has means that shield sets actually got a little weaker, since they are a flat amount rather than scaling off health or max stats like shields from skills, but there are a few sets that provide resistances or % mitigation that might be worth looking into this patch.

Survivability is fine, dps support is more important. With parse food and no ebon my raid dps have 21-22k.

Dps survivability is not an issue. I ran VDSA tonight on my mag sorc 19 k health and parse food with no problems. I died twice.

That would add some variety, but I think we're still in 'damage is king of the world' meta.

Lots of dungeons would need additional tweaking to allow longer but less deadly fights be a thing. Most mechanics just become more and more likely to kill you the longer you let them go on.
