Gamepad inventory and bank menus freezing when equipping or moving items

When trying to move items to or from the bank or equipping an item in the inventory, the screen freezes. When using the filtering in the bank, picking up an item causes the menu to reset your scrolling position, and sometimes, so briefly flash the entire bank before re-applying the filter.

This leads me to believe that any inventory change is causing the gamepad menu to refresh the entire inventory or bank list, causing the freeze.

Equipping a dagger actually made the entire game freeze on me yesterday to the point where the screen whited out and Windows had to intervene and tell me to close it.

I know they’d mentioned something about a known issue regarding inventories, but these hard freezes need a fix as soon as possible.

I'd also like to add that the rumble when harvesting woodworking, blacksmithing, and jewelry materials is heavily delayed -- in one case occurring as I was walking away from the node when it used to occur as the pickaxe or axe struck. I wonder if this has anything to do with the Master Gatherer ability.

Yes, it has long been the case that the rumble from gamepads takes effect at the time the animation would have finished without Master Gatherer. It’s done this for many years now. On survey nodes, however, you don’t get any rumble at all.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_Adrikoth since Update 29, depositing/withdrawing items from the invetory or bank, as well as equipping/removing gear on a character from the inventory/bank on gamepad UI on both PC NA/EU is really delayed: the item gets deposited/removed etc., 3-4 seconds after the button press, and sometimes it doesn't happen at all. This has started happening on gamepad UI since the update. Could you please let us know whether it's being fixed?

Also getting this major lag in the bank inventory on PS4 EU. Borderline game breaking if you need to swap stuff in and out as much as I do. Can we just get an answer at least as to whether your aware of this @ZOS_GinaBruno and if so is there any planned fix. Its the not knowing that annoys the most, if you could just update us as to where the issue is at then I think it would make people a bit more chilled about it. Thanks.

Check the Known issues part of the Flames of Ambition patch notes. It's a known bug.

No, they said they were aware we would see delays in things like guild bank inventories. They didn’t acknowledge that merely equipping an item could cause the game to crash.

ETA: I was not in a bank, personal or otherwise, when that happened. I was just in my inventory trying to put on a piece of gear.

Here’s the one patch note I could find about this:

“While we’ve made some improvements to your inventory's category and search functionality, you may run into some increased load times for certain operations in banks with high item counts. We’re working on a fix for an upcoming incremental patch.”
