Ring of the Pale Order - Order-Etched Gallery Rail drop?

So I am trying to get my first Mythic Item, the Ring of the Pale Order. Sadly, the last missing piece is the Order-Etched Gallery Rail. That is supposed to drop only in Bad Man's Hollow in Glenumbra.
However, it did not, for several hours. The dungeon is overfarmed and there are very few monster spawns to begin with. So I am running around in a mostly empty dungeon, trying to get a hit in before something dies. Grouping up was no option, because those around were not interested. So... yeah. This is no fun. And no drop!

Is there anything I can do? Some other spot? Is this Dungeon supposed to be THAT overfarmed and under-monstered?

Sorry, nothing you can do other than trying to group up. It might make the farming quicker, but it is still very random. Took me hours and hours to get that lead.

Go in slow hours like in the morning or late at night.
I got my from an boss pretty fast but other gotten it from mobs.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I farmed that dungeon for about three weeks before it dropped. One of the hardest leads that I have farmed. Now if those summerset gryphons would just drop that feather I would be complete......

I must have killed 5000 gryphons.

I am already trying it in slow hours (yesterday at night at ~4am, today at 8am). I will of course not be able to do that when my vacation ends.
Even at those hours, there are at least 3-5 other people cruising around and the mobs die VERY fast. I am not quite sure how that dungeon is a public (group) dungeon and not a delve. :D

I think it needs a serious upgrade in monster spawns, or less people farming it like crazy for probably the same reason I am doing it. This is quite frustrating, especially since this doesn't even work as a nice, quiet grind spot because of not enough monsters. I am not averse to a bit of grinding here and there but this... ugh.

This really does not feel as if it is supposed to be like this.

It's worth but painful process :D

Ring of the Pale Order is a life changer , I run it most of the time unless the HM mechanic bypass this ring .

There are two different leads that drop there. The one for Ring of the Pale drops from random mobs. The bosses drop a lead for Ring of the Wild Hunt (band of water).

I tried it at all different hours of the day, grouped and ungrouped (which did NOT make a difference), and it took me around 8 total hours in there over four days to get it to drop.

I got the Band of Water pretty early from one of the bosses. I even got the Kingmaker's Trove from one of the chests. No luck with the Order-Etched Gallery Rail though.

Is there some kind of cooldown on lead drops maybe?

Nope. I've gotten the Rail and the Band of Water within a few minutes of each other. There's a 3m (I think) cooldown on boss drops, and I think if you're still inside that cooldown it will block getting the lead. (This is more of an issue with the Alik'r Delve's boss, as players wander through.)

I've gotten the Rail four times. It does drop (off of trash mobs only.) But, it is entirely random. I've had it drop off the first trash pull, and I've had times when it took over two hours to get the thing to drop.

an oblivion plane for a "improve chances for lead drops by 40% per stage" activethatshouldbepassive in the green tree

oh.. and a lovely island like psijic one for "not collected set items have +50% per stage drop rate of already collected ones"

and to round it off. A blackreach cave section for "non-final bosses have 10% chance per stage to drop weapons"

I only have anecdotal evidence for this but boss related leads seem to have a much, much higher base chance than other leads.
Usually I can get a boss lead in 2-8 kills but mobs or container related ones can take hours for sure.

It certainly doesn't help that Bad Man Hallows (or all 3 of the starter zone public dungeons for that matter) has lower enemy count than normal.

You know, a green tree active that increases lead drop rates wouldn't be the worst idea.

I got this lead on my 'B' account on late Jan so at least it was in the 'loot table' until that point; after many unsuccessful attempts during more 'friendly' hours I had to resort to 'farming' before going to work (4-6AM in my local time, 6-7AM is 'coffee and writ' time).

The mob density and respawn rate in that dungeon is... well, either 'poor' or 'balanced for a starter area', however you want to look at it and too many of us are after that lead, it just can't accommodate us.

Took me approximately 10 hours (Mon to Fri sessions) to get it.

It was really un-fun but as I was half asleep throughout it was tolerable(ish).

That is peak ESO experience my friend, farm an ugly old and barren map for hours. Enjoy the moment while ESO fails the make you forgot how meaningless the limited mortal life is, especialy yours because you farm a stupid lead for hours. Well these were my feelings... (DEVS, THIS IS A FEEDBACK)

My tips: group up, check your leads every 5-10 minutes just in case you missed the drop notification, play good music at back ground, use movement speed gear+cp, use stamina gain CP on kills even if you are mag, you gonna sprint a lot

I have killed about 500+ mobs and still no luck, had to check several times if I am pursuing the right lead ;)
Someone posted it might be easier on an alt that hasnt done quests in this instance but it didnt work for me.

The CP of improving treasury drop seems to help.

You could pick a different time. There is no other way. All the public non world boss drops are time consuming to get.

But what would you need it for? It's not useful in any groups. The one time it saved my ass was an encounter with some boss in IC sewer, where Gaze + Pariah + 3k health regen can't keep up with incoming damage.

Right now is bad because people are farming plunder skulls in dungeons as well. It took me several days to get that lead - even when nothing else is going on.

That lead placement flat out sucks.

I too have spend many many hours in there, sending in different characters in case one was luckier than another and finally managed to get it today on XEU. I still have to find it for my boys on XNA but at least it’s the last piece 😺

When I was farming it, I grouped up with others who were in there farming it. Then at least you had a chance of it dropping from any mob that someone in the group kills and you're not competing with them for kills.

It only drops from trash mobs.

Dungeon bosses also drop a lead but not for the Ring of the Pale Order.

They drop the lead for the Band of Water (Ring of the Wild Hunt).

Fortunately they have finally decided to take action and somewhat alleviate this travesty.

From the PTS natch potes (7.2.0) which will go live next Monday with U32:

Increased the drop rate of the Order-Etched Gallery Rail Antiquity Lead.

I guess I was lucky on this one, I spent less than an hour farming it, and finally snagged it from one of the undead near the entrance. I was also lucky on the drop from the World Bosses in Wrothgar... the very first boss I came across was being fought by about five other players, I joined in right towards the end and received the lead!! The chests in Bankorai... now THAT one took me a couple of hours... probably the worst of the leads to get IMO.

one thing i will never understand is why do leads require us all to spend days farming them instead of playing the damned game. i don't want everything handed to me immediately, but farming stuff for days on end is beyond ridiculous. does any of you remember the days of Tide-Glass Beads lead farming? when people turned into zombies and stared endlessly into the water, waiting for a node to respawn? when all of Shadowfen was a land of the dead that came alive only when you approached them to growl at you in the chat and tell you to "[snip] off, this is their node! go find your own!"?

farming something in a dungeon is one thing, that is at least playing the game. waiting for a node or mobs to respawn and compete with other people for the kill (or harvest) for days is a very bad game design. i got the lead from Shadowfen from the 5th node. there were people in the zone chat talking and one guy has been there sitting in front of a node for 19 hours straight and wasn't leaving until he got the lead. i felt so incredible lucky but also so terribly bad for that guy. imagine paying your money for the game and expansion and then not play it for days because you have to farm something silly, like a mythic lead. yes, nobody forced anyone to do it (farm the lead), but that is not a good argument. nothing should take hours or days of standing in one spot waiting for something to respawn. i remember how i felt when i was farming the Bad Man's Hollow lead. running around as fast as possible trying to kill every single mob, only to see someone else pull and kill a group of them and thinking "damn', that could have been the lead drop right there, if that sucker didn't steal them". all it did was people trying to steal kills from one another..

I've farmed it twice now and each time I got it in about 10-12 hours. Or what's for me 3-4 days of playing. I stay in that room with the little lake in the middle and the two exits. Spawns appear in the main room and slightly down both exits. Have a medium range AOE attack ready, because if there are other people with the same idea the spawns won't last more than a couple of seconds. If I'm alone I wipe them out, if there are othes doing the same thing I hit them once and let the others finish them off. And of course, be prepared for the tour groups who run the whole dungeon at full speed attacking anything they see. The part that appears in the chests was worse because even with an add on like HarvestMap I rarely find non looted chests.

THIS worked for me so a confirmation here, thank YOU for this post. I went to that centre island in the "little lake" and it respawned every 5 mins, took about 4 tries and I got the lead. Now I will get the ring after excavating, HIP HIP HORRAAAAY!

I despised farming it, it took me 3 days.
I heard in recent patches that the drop rate was increased tho.

It doesn't beat the belharza's band lead from falkreath tho... that one took me half a month, like 25 dungeon runs, sometimes we couldn't even find a single chest at all, and when they did show up, it had such a low chance to drop.

So that said, yeah, just keep spamming chat if anyone else is trying to farm your lead.
I helped 4 people get it before I got it myself, it was tedious, it was completely unsatisfying, it didn't feel like I achieved anything, and I didn't even feel relieved that I finally got it.
But in the end the ring is a good set if you're gonna continue playing solo, especially for solo arenas (I only became satisfied when I was able to finishe vateshran hollows).
