This patch has ruined the casual gaming experience , not every has loads of spare time to play . Some of us still have jobs , families etc. If you like playing and RPing with a bow , its now rubbish , realy cant see what thses devs are thinking. Sigh !

So wait - if you're not min/maxing and making a top-DPS hardmode build, you're "RPing with a bow"?

(also, if you're a "casual player", why would you care about min-maxing. That's a non-casual thing, isn't it?)

ESO can't be more casual. I mean I'm afraid it can.... but it CAN'T :D

I'm not sure why you think this. The base stats of a starting character have been increased, making it easier to do more damage and giving the character a lot more health - survivability.

And that's just to begin with. Passives have been changed so that they work with both magicka and stamina builds. Evcn if you don't want to deal with the CP change, the characters have been given a lot more to work with.

These things and more improves the Casual player's experience

    IMHO

But casual gaming IS playing little amount of time and not very often. How?
Why is bow rubbish for role-playing?
Let's be extremely precise in our use of terms.

As it is, it's great for Casual.

Just the base stat bonuses from Leveling up now makes you good enough to do nearly any content on Normal Difficulty. You may need some Champion Investment to be solid enough for normal Trials or some DLC Dungeons, but you'll be fine.

Will a "Casual" player be able to solo a World Boss, or clear Veteran Vateshran, or participate in a Veteran Trial? No. But those aren't casual activities anyway.

I'll include in the "and more": Companions. That's going to be a big (and fun) help to loners like me.

The pace is yours to set, so I don't know why anyone would complain about having years of meaningful content ahead of us.

"Casual" is a misused term in my view, along with "veteran". Someone who has played overland content for a few hours every day consistently for 7 years with an uninterrupted subscription is considered casual, while someone else who has logged in for a Trial once a week for a couple of years inbetween QQ'ing and cancelling/renewing his subscription is considered a veteran. It makes no sense to me.

I'm a casual player but my builds are effective, so I get the most when I do play. BUT I could relate to some frustration when a character isn't there just yet. Otherwise, rest exp that accumulates makes ups QoL leveling when offline i.e. rapid leveling on anything that requires experience.
