The new Champion Points are cool, allowing us to personalize the Champion Trees a bit more, but still, you have, and we`ll always have a meta. In other words, there`re key stars you must slot, which will grant you absolutely needed attributes that will influence your character so much that you can`t live without them.
You can pretty much use 1200 champions and still have a decent toon, decent damage and so on, being a mere detail to level up your champion points even more in order to improve some perks. For example, you can`t afford the same offense and defense as someone with, I don`t know, 3000 champions, but still, you can fulfil your role in a dungeon.
There`re some perks we lost with the new Champion System, which definitely contributes to some disadvantage, specially towards specific builds. In the case of my Mag.Sorc, I could notice a 10 - 16% overall lose in matters of DPS. Before I was doing around 93k, now though I stay between 78k and 83k.
So yeah, we definitely lost some DPS. Is that much? No. But I`m not happy with that neither. We got some more Spell Damage, some more Health, but to make things worse after the changes is a downside. We could have a patch, and then make things easier, now we`ll need to get new gear and do all over again just to hit what we were doing before...
Currently noticing a small loss of dps, around 2k damage loss and that isn't with all the stars I need filled up, due to not having enough CP. If I did get those filled up I expect it'll be around the same, more to 1k more than less of course. I suspect it's different for other builds, but I noticed a huge change when swapping out of the shadow mundus.
