What slotted stars are you using after the CP rework? Are there clear best-in-slot options?

I've personally found Steed's Blessing to be incredibly convenient, that little bit of extra move speed is quite noticeable and makes traversing dungeons and buildings so much more comfortable, alongside the permanent Major Gallop in Assault meaning I no longer need to slot and use Rapid Maneuver all the time. Slippery is quite nice, both in and outside of PvP, as the animation doesn't suffer from any input delay and costs nothing, along with activating many of the other passives found in Fitness. Aside from that, I'm mostly using Meticulous Disassembly, Master Gatherer and Plentiful Harvest on my crafter, along with Rejuvenation, Juggernaut, and Shield Master as I ran out of points on my way to Bastion. I've not yet decided on what stars to take in Warfare, but am curious to see what everyone else is using or would happen to suggest trying out.

Just curious if anyone has established any slotted stars as being clear winners, I think it's a bit too early to tell what the meta will be in regards to CP but I'd like to see what stars others thought could be useful in the new system.

If you have a Nightblade Assassin character... Try out "Shadowstrike" with that sneaky assassin build. It's a star in the "Craft" which gives you invisibility for 5 seconds after using Blade of Woe... But here's the kicker: While under this effect, you can use Blade of Woe... It doesn't matter if you're in combat or not. It doesn't matter if you target is fighting another player... You're free to use Blade of Woe on any applicable target for that 5 seconds while invisible.

I went to so humans-only public dungeons and it was a blast of just assassinating whole groups of enemies. Being constantly invisible, hidden, and always able to use the Blade of Woe on anyone you please. You really feel like an assassin for once and I love it. Bonus points if vampire for that extra style point.

I hate that the Blade of Woe can't be used in dungeons/trials now. Granted, it should only be used on trash mobs obviously but still would be just so much fun to see how it works in a proper group situation. Obviously not gonna be the most effective way of killing trash but easily a fun way.

Juggernaut, Rejuvenation, and Survival Instincts are really good in the red tree. Blue tree is straight forward and it depends on your build. Green tree is... Well depends on what you're doing. For crime the Cutpurse's Art is so OP. I was getting blue items from beggars!!!

I looked at the whole thing...all my skills unloaded and my skill-points unassigned on 3 accounts and, even though I knew it was coming, I felt completely overwhelmed. I don’t have a clue what I’m going to do about CP assignments on all those characters, who usually play solo and do a combination of DPS and self healing and occasional tanking/dps. Not to mention crafting, which many of my characters also do, at least to some extent.

So I signed out, with zero CP assigned to anyone. /sigh

I use mitigation stars a lot. Like dueler rebuff or whatever its called, to reduce damage taken from single target attacks by 20%. Also, the one that reduce cost of core combat skills by 25% based on CC status on us. This will not sound great for me but I also use free roll dodge one. Helps a bit with sustain when u face several players at once. Not sure if these are BiS, but seem rather good on sDK.
From crafting tree I went for harvesting stars in PvE and food/potion ones in PvP. Still lack CPs for true end game, fishing
    Awake, but at what cost

Anyone know if AOE DOTS like Wall of Elements, Necrotic Orb and Elemental Rage (Destruction Ult) are affected by both the AOE and DOT stars? For instance, would they be boosted twice, by both Biting Aura and Thaumaturge, and reduced twice, by both Unassailable and Thaumaturge? Or would only one of those apply, and if so, which one?

Also, does Survival Instincts work based off any debuff on yourself, or just status effects like Burning, Poisoned, and Diseased? I figure it's the latter, but if the former, I could see how Necro or people using Bone Pirate would find the star to be quite useful.

It works on status effects only, but with the introduction of physical, magic, and bleed status effects odds are you're going to have one applied to you. Imagine getting stunned with a physical attack and the status effect procs. Well now your break free is 25% cheaper as well as the immediate dodge roll afterwards.

Haven't tried Strategic Reserve as I usually play Dragonknight and need to use my ult in order to regain resources, but Reaving Blows and Slippery are both solid choices, Slippery and Juggernaut especially seem like a good combination for PvP, and I am testing to see whether it's possible to be CCed by certain bosses enough to make use of those stars for PvE as well.

Makes sense. Dks have to use ult. Just speaking from my view on my sorc. Strategic gives around 2.2k(?) Health regen for holding on to ultimates.

In blue, it looks like the +damage slottables are a LOT more powerful than the other damage ones.

In green, Treasure Hunter and Plentiful Harvest are musts for me and, for QoL, I really like Master Gatherer as well. The better-breakdown one seems strong, too, but of course one doesn't need it on every character.

In red, I'm reflexively taking the three-stat recovery one. I'm also choosing max health over armor when I don't have room to slot both.

If anyone is interested, I've been doing some testing on my own and managed to come to some conclusions. Deadly Aim appears to only boost single target direct damage (from hits) but never single target DOTs, Thaumaturge boosts all DOTs regardless of application, and Biting Aura seems like it was intended to boost only AOE direct damage, and indeed did so with most of the skills and sets I tested, but I have encountered at least one case where it was stacking with Thaumaturge. Duelist's Rebuff/Enduring Resolve/Unassailable seem to work the same way. It's a little disappointing, because I don't see Unassailable or Biting Aura being anywhere as close to the effectiveness of the single target or DOT stars given how infrequently AOE direct damage appears, but like I said, Biting Aura at least definitely has some overlap with Thaumaturge, intended or not, so it's possible that someone could make use of it.

This is what I'd like to know too.

My understanding from the old system (thanks to those old Gilliam videos) is that your AOE DOTs like Wall, Path, Orb etc were all counted under the DOT star. They may have an area of effect in terms of targeting, but the game counts the actual damage they deal as damage over time.

The AOE star is for direct (or what we might call "spammable") AOEs like NB's sap or Necro's scythe. If it still works this way, that probably means you can safely skip the AOE star, because most damage dealer builds don't even slot them. I'd probably slot either the additional crit damage, or additional magicka one instead.

That said I haven't had a chance to actually test this, so if somebody knows better please do inform us. I just tested it, it does indeed work as I stated above. "AOE" skills like Wall of Elements are not affected by the AOE star, but the DOT star.

I'd also like to know- On a class with self healing that scales on damage inflicted, like magNB, is the Pale Order-lite star a wasted slot? Instincts tell me you'd get actually get more benefit by further maximizing damage via the extra crit damage or extra spell damage stars, for example.

On my main DD blue tree ones are mostly fighting finesse, deadly aim and traumaturge, the last one is situational and might vary.

Red is also pretty straightforward being boundless vitality, ironclad and rejuvenation plus siphoning/bloody depending on being mag/stam, but really when I'd be maxing out all of the passive mitigation slots would probably go for something else but ironclad and might also scrap rejuvenation when will find new recovery sweet spot for said content, gladly there are lots of pretty nice slottables to chose from.

Green one is steeds blessing 100%, others may vary but I'd probably run 90% of time with treasure hunter, plentiful harvest and master gatherer, swapping for homemaker doing dwemer ruins, disassembly doing refines and such. War mount and gifted rider are an overkill for me already so no worries here.

Healing over Time stacks with Single target or AOE bonuses, so depending on the ability it could only get a 10% bonus or up to a 20% boost in healing, like the Funnel Health for example. Of course the more raw damage that skill does also benefits it. Generally I take the 8% PvE mitigation on all characters, but that's a passive. Some of my tanks use the combo of Single/AOE mitigation but most of them take the 5-6k Damage shield, And some also take the +1900 Armor for Staves and shields.

The shields plus the cheap dodge roll in shields path seems seriously overpowered especially in heavy armour so well worth slotting if you run 100% or near 100% damage shield uptimes.

The main one though is rejuvenation - there's no point I can see running anything as an alternative to this because the sustain has been so overnerfed this update.
