So tanks are being punished simply for being tanks. Increased magic damage? Increased roll dodge cost? For what??

If they are going to increase our cost of roll dodge, they better get rid of the 1 shot mechanics that require us to roll dodge along with it.

I'll "wait and see" how this plays out, but this is absolutely ridiculous that wearing heavy armor gives you penalties to... things that heavy armor are supposed to be used for.

    Haha, thanks! My Necro tank, my main. That's definitely the vibe I'm going for.

    I needed an upgrade from the Xivkyn I was running - Xivkyn might still be my favorite of the 2 looks, but I nabbed the Worm Cult motifs to give myself a bit of an upgrade.

    I always liked the idea of a PvP stat. A lot of games had them. A stat that increases damage vs players and reduced damage from players. PvP sets had this stat + a high amount of health. No procs, no PvE/PvP balancing around the matter. Everybody happy.

    Or better yet, give us the block cost reduction that they inexplicably gave to medium armor, as if anyone is tanking in medium.

    That would help mitigate the fact we cant dodge roll anymore.

    In reality all the passives and er slottables in the connect a dot 2.0 system are gated to make the choices of wearing whatever armour part of the choice. As there are a few slottables that require large amount of points invested to off set the negatives heavy armour has.

    Sadly, the things many of us were asking to be changed was ignored as this connect a dot system wasn't really ready to go live. I'll mention that the changes to heavy armour are not only PvP related, it's simply a way to make us grind to get the experience we had earned before to be earned again, just to get the passives and slottables which are needed to off set the armour debuffs.

    So in essence the choices are, wear less heavy armour and put on different weights to offset the penalty or grind more. However, Zos in all their wisdom didn't think about changing sets weight. And offer us all the sets we have collected to be crafted in different weights, light leeching plate as an example.

    With the extra ultra-cheap health I'm now running mother's sorrow and spamming shields on my templar tank. Seems to work perfectly fine. In fact I think the next step is going to be to put all 64 attribute points in magicka.

    I played end game PvE for years. I have a ton of trial skins. Gear is making trials easier for you guys too. It needs to be balanced, sorry you have to put in actual effort to beat a trial instead of getting carried by your gear. So you have to actually do mechanics instead of burning down a boss fast so you can bypass them.

    Your complaint is not valid.

    If the sets were over performing in pve but fine in PvP, you rebalance dungeons and trials to compensate.

    It was pvp these nerfs were designed for, and quite frankly I don’t understand how some trial bosses will be done now. With magic and physical damage being unavoidable in many fights.

    I am wondering if they are going to have to rebalance the dungeons and trials now...

    I bet no dev mains support on tank or healer. This is only way things make sense.

    Or maybe we need wrobel back. We need someone looking out for pve not just pvp

    Every time gear tried to get nerfed the PvErs cry unfair.
    Gear doesn't get nerfed keeps getting stronger to make PvE happy.
    It's a vicious cycle.

    It's PVE, so all the parameters of NPCs and their mechanics are sets. You just have to learn and memorize new dance moves...once you do, you'll be back to farm mode.

    Pve is about more then that. Unlike pvp we know how to work better in a group. Like come on pvp grouping is so bad they removed alliance group finder

    It’s not a question of staying out of red. There are mechanics that require the group to stand in them. Soaks are a common mechanic that will now hit for much harder.

    Hel-Ra has bosses that throw physical damage around everywhere. The final boss has a huge aoe that is magic and quite frequent.

    It’s not a question of staying out of the fire.

    I'm a PvE tank main. I'm only talking about tanking some PvE content and seeing how it feels. You may need to asjust your build somewhat, but all the tanks I know who have done some content have said it's actually pretty good.

    I'm a PvE tank main. I'm only talking about tanking some PvE content and seeing how it feels. You may need to asjust your build somewhat, but all the tanks I know who have done some content have said it's actually pretty good.

    I am a pve tank main as well. And 3 of my mentors who taught me how to sword and board said they are hanging up their shields because of this. I suspect it has to do with CP levels. If you have a ton of cp with spare gear, you might not feel much of a pinch. But for those of us down in the 200 range, I get 1 shot by things I solo'd two days ago. Its pretty much night and day, and I dont think "just move points into stamina" or whatever, is going to make any difference.

    Every time gear tried to get nerfed the PvErs cry unfair.
    Gear doesn't get nerfed keeps getting stronger to make PvE happy.
    It's a vicious cycle.

    Except they literally nerfed the hell out of PvE in CP 2.0 with the 15-20% DPS nerf and they've nerfed the hell out of heaps of sets because they were too "strong" in PvE in the last few updates, but y'know... do go off.

    Experienced and high cp tanks will adapt and keep doing the same content as before no probs. But people new to tanking or more casual and lower cp will definitely struggle more now with these armor changes. Zos may have lowered the ceiling and raised the floor for dps but shafted tanks big time. This will result longer dungeon queues as the tanks who pug are mostly average or less skilled. Good tanks dont pug much anyways. Well done Zos
