ESO is not my religion so i actually spend my eso time playing the game not obsessing over patch notes and every little thing zos says or does so no i def didnt get the memo and it wouldnt have mattered if i had. 2 weeks isnt enough time for me to sort this out. and while im bust doing that i'm not doing crafting dailies and earning that gold on my way to earning writ vouchers and getting the remaining crafting table sets that i have been working on acquiring... i have 16 of them so far all from writ vouchers and if i get enough gold saved i may just but them from guild traders. i have 19 mil so far... mostly from crafting dailies and selling mats with an odd selling off of crowns from eso plus that have gone unused here or there. my crafting time is highly disrupted and i am not pleased. there is literally NO justification for removing my skills and forcing me to reslot skill points on 22 toons. NONE! what a complete waste of time to spend so much time slotting skill points all over again after spending forever in the new champion point system

Plenty of justification... they gave lots of warning and there were addons to help save your skills too unless you aren't PC. I've got 18 characters to do too, yeah it's a pain but it had to happen.

I made a thread about 2 important add-ons you need for u29. I told all my guilds, asked all my guilds to tell all their other guilds and friends. I told zone chat in many heavily travelled ones, and asked them to tell their guilds and friends. Guess it didn't reach you

I didn't bother with an addon, it took less than five minutes to reset the skill points on my main manually while I was on the phone and drinking coffee.
Just give yourself 5 extra minutes when you log on for the first time, not a big deal.
CP is a bigger headache, but we all need to figure that out together anyways

But yes, certainly a bit of a pain to respec all your toons. I am far more concerned about the CP optimaztion on 18 toons than I am about the skill points. I actually dont mind the occasional reset. The vast majority of my toons are parked for writs anyways, and that takes about 30 seconds to quickly spend those points again. Most of the other skills they have are for leveling purposes, so having those reset is actually helpful.

You are on the forums enough to know this was coming, and there are addons that save skill points. I didnt do that because I actually welcome the clean slate once in a while, but I did make sure I had a basic loadout saved in Alpha Gear for all my characters to make it easier.

Well, if your focus is on crafting, put those skill points back (that hasn’t changed) and assign champion points in the green constellation to get meticulous disassembly and then look at the rest at your leisure.

Yes, there is. I grant that they could have been a bit more forward about it but this is one thing for which there is a good reason.

I'm not even going to bother to respec most. I'll spend an hour or so logging in to each account, resetting everything to zero, and then maybe spend the next week sorting out what to do with a character. I'm not even going to bother to claim the stupid pet. Now if the pet had been a lemon, I'd have definitely claimed it. THAT would have at least been appropriate.

@linuxlady my understanding is that for some reason, some people were able to acquire more skill points that they should have and this was the way to take them away. i think i read it under this heading at the top of the main page: Missing Skill Point Investigation & Resolution
