Orcs getting spell damage in the latest update as a racial passive, what would DPS difference be...

Between a perfectly played Breton Magicka Warden and a perfectly played Orc Magicka Warden?

Ball park figure of the difference. Would it be like 5k DPS in dungeons, more or less?

The damage is probably close to what you guessed or even closer gap but the major difference is the sustain, the orc is going to suffer because of less magicka to start with and nothing to help that fact sustain wise. Tested an orc against a high elf magsorc and that was around the difference and with more mag to start the high elf was easier to sustain. Would be even better with Breton.

Breton should be much easier to sustain but their damage should be pretty much the same after the patch because 258 spell damage is similar to 2000 maximum magicka.

I think that Orcs (but that is only my personal opinion) got actually stronger this patch than they were before lol.

Sure, they got 1K stamina less, but keep in mind - we will get more max resources anyway. In fact, on PTS, my Orc actually got same (or more) stamina with same build, despite having 1K stamina less from racial passive.

Healing Passive Orcs have is just um.. kinda ridiculous, as you will be able to have 100% uptime on it, and it is essentially an equivalent of 500 health recovery.

And the extra magicka ? Not gonna lie, they are better healers now that Argonians - just because spell dmg bonus is better that 6% healing bonus. They will be als better mag dps lol.

Overall, I am really surprised that ZOS buffed them. I mean this patch, they nerfed weakest races & buffed strongest meta races ?! What kind of logic is that ?!

There are either some factors we dont know that ZOS takes into account (maybe like statistical racial population % or something) but I would say, they need to re-do their "balancing" spread sheet as some things are clearly over-valued, and other de-vlaued.

Thanks! Would an Orc Warden hybrid be decent now? And if so, what setup would you run?

Thanks for the detailed reply. On the PTR does the healing passive proc of destruction staff light and heavy attacks as well? Are you running a full stamina build, hybrid or magicka?

Breton is one of the worst races in terms of damage because they only have 2000 magicka and that bonus is getting weaker due to the fact that CP doesnt increase resource stats by 20% anymore.

If you need Witchmothers Potent Brew on a Orc but you can run Arteum Pickled Fish Bowl on a Breton it may be different ofc.

In terms of hybrid races I think Dunmer and Khajiit are top pick, followed by Orc and Altmer.
    PC - EU (AD)
    Septimus Mezar - Altmer Sorcerer
    Septimus Rulanir - Orsimer Templar
    Septimus Desmoru - Khajiit Necromancer
Septimus Iroh - Dunmer Dragon Knight
    Septimus Thragar - Dunmer Nightblade
    Septimus Jah'zar - Khajiit Nightblade
    Septimus Nerox - Redguard Warden
    Septimus Ozurk - Orsimer Sorcerer

Orcs and other races are irrelevant right now. We need argonians to be totally buffed.

Something I was noticing was some of the stamina classes are using their classes magicka aoe abilities for a dps gain. Khajiit and dunmer are going to have a pretty large advantage if we start down this hybrid road.

As for orcs I was reading somewhere that high elves with their new 258weapon damage are out dpsing bosmers, so do with that information what you will.

Weapon/Spell damage is the stat that has NO upper limit, caps or diminishing returns.

Every other racial passive has caps, diminishing returns, or reaches a point where you don't need any more. Even max resource is not optimal after U29, because you lose the 20% modifier from CP.
