I’d like to start off by pointing out that I don’t actually play in Cyrodiil anymore, living in Australia means the lag in that place simply makes it unplayable.
I’ve been reading up on the latest tests they ran without procs and the conclusion from the majority of the player base seems to be that procs aren’t the issue when it comes to performance, procs or not it makes no difference whatsoever to the lag.
So lag isn’t the issue, so next comes player agency and the complaints made by players here on the forums regarding proc sets in PvP. We’ve all seen it, “wahhh I got killed by a Zaan proc, oH Em gEe I got clapped by Vateshran”.
There’s definitely a stigma surrounding proc sets and yes, there’s been a lot of discussion and rabble around them, but the counter arguments that have been made shouldn’t be ignored either. It’s been argued that players who can’t cope with proc sets simply need to “git gud”, adapt or die type of mentality, and they aren’t necessarily wrong.
My personal take on proc sets (especially as someone who uses them) is they are part of the game, plain and simple. We’ve grinded countless hours to acquire these sets, we’ve invested hundreds of thousands of gold to upgrade our gear and perfect our builds for the purpose of using them in PvP. I’m not just talking about the last 2 years, I’m talking about since the game first came out 7 years ago.
So finally to my question to Zenimax and to anyone reading this:
Why are they removing proc sets from Cyrodiil for 6 months?
It’s been established they don’t cause lag.
There’s still plenty of players who use proc sets and don’t want to be limited to 19 bland sets.
All these posts I’ve been reading lately are all the same, “THANK YOU ZOS CYRO IS ABOUT SKILL AGAIN!!”.
......do players not have the skill to deal with procs?
