Alternative Set Combinations for PvP.

Crafting 4 pieces of Assassin's Guile, Legacy of Karth and New Moon Acolyte will give you:

3332 weapon/spell critical
387 weapon/spell damage
2974 weapon/spell penetration

That's actually not too bad, is it? It'll also make a hybrid more viable. Anyway, this is just one combination. You can opt for higher penetration or higher weapon/spell damage as well by combining craftable sets.

Curious about your thoughts!

If you combine 4 pieces of Kvatch Gladiator, 5 pieces of Hunding's Rage and 3 pieces of Night Mother's Gaze, then this will give you:

    4165 weapon critical
    758 weapon damage
    1096 stamina

Sounds like a DPS set-up to me!

    2 trainee, 3 willpower, 5 spinner, 1 domi, 1 swarm mother

The problem with your set up is that you

    1. Miss out on at least 1 Set bonus
    2. Some sets give a higher stat bonuses than others (trainee and willpower for example)
    3. Some sets work as 1p (monster and trainee)

Or a bit more balanced for recovery? Crafting 5 pieces of Shacklebreaker, 4 pieces of Innate Axiom and 3 pieces of Daring Corsair will give you:

    258 stamina/magicka recovery
    258 weapon/spell damage
    3161 max stamina/magicka
    833 weapon and spell critical

Is this bad? It doesn't sound that bad!

Going for just overall numbers I don't think you can miss out on either 3 piece Endurance / Willpower / Agility / Grace of Ancients, I could be wrong

I realize that, but I'm just looking for a combination which you can put together quite quickly, and then go on and have some fun in Cyrodill.

    Good combo! Gives you:

    2192 max stamina
    6163 max magicka
    335 spell damage
    3460 spell penetration

    Keep 'em coming!

I have thought of that, but I was looking for critical chance and offensive penetration as well, and of course I was looking for combos that you can put together real quick, without having to collect or farm something first. Just curious about every possible combo. So don't be shy, help me out and start posting yours? Hopefully, by the time we finish this thread, we'll have some options!

If you compare these combos to the sets you used to wear, sure. If you compare these combos to what you're able to use now? Not that bad at all, I'd say!

We're all in the same boat?

Don't forget Mythics, they might not hold too much efficiency in terms of raw stats, but their bonus usually presents a unique or rather interesting way of playing the game that you could accommodate into your build, or even focus your playstyle around. Backbarring certain sets that can carry over to front bar is also a good idea, and lets you use Arena weapons and the like and still get the full value out of two 5 piece sets and a monster helm. I would suggest that at least for the time being (i.e. until Update 31 arrives in September), you use Shacklebreaker on both bars, given that it is by far the most useful of the 19 sets that still function to their full potential in Cyrodiil, and that placing it only on one bar would cause you to lose the extra Stamina/Magicka if you were capped when you swapped bars.

It really isn’t that bad and it’s good to see some people think outside the box. It will be a refreshing change to be fighting players again instead of the armor sets that carried them.

The irony is we are all in a VERY tight box now.

    5 Hunding's, 1 Molag Kena, 1 Balorgh, 3 Agility, 2 Endurance

    1666 Crit
    1928 Health
    2848 Stamina
    764 Weapon Damage
    258 Spell Damage ;)

You can chose if you want it in heavy or medium. You can also chose to wear 3 Agility front-bar, 3 Endurance back-bar :). If you need more Magicka for support skills, replace Molag Kena and Balorgh for Domihaus and Swarm Mother.

If you don't like the Crit in your Hunding's, go with:

    5 Spriggan's, 1 Molag Kena, 1 Balorgh, 3 Agility, 2 Endurance

    1928 Health
    3944 Stamina
    593 Weapon Damage
    3460 Physical Penetration
    258 Spell Damage ;)

    258 stamina/magicka recovery
    258 weapon/spell damage
    3161 max stamina/magicka
    833 weapon and spell critical

Is this bad? It doesn't sound that bad!

Compare this to 1 Molag Kena, 1 Balorgh, 5 Shacklebreaker, 5 Amber Plasm:
    405 Stam Rec
    405 Magicka Rec
    276 Health Rec
    387 Weapon Damage
    516 Spell Damage
    833 Spell Critical
    2065 Max Stamina
    3161 Max Magicka

Or, if you want more Stamina, even 1 Domihaus, 1 Swarm Mother, 5 Shacklebreaker, 5 Amber Plasm:

    405 Stam Rec
    405 Magicka Rec
    276 Health Rec
    129 Weapon Damage
    258 Spell Damage
    833 Spell Critical
    4257 Max Stamina
    5353 Max Magicka

In my opinion you probably won't run 4 pieces of a 5-piece-set. You will be better off by combinig two 5-piece-sets with 2 separate monster set pieces or one 5-piece-set with monster-set pieces and trainee/willpower/agility/endurance.

Okay, so this is an example with 3 pieces of Agility, 5 pieces of Hunding's Rage and 4 pieces of Kvatch Gladiator, which will give you:

    2848 max stamina
    635 weapon damage
    3332 weapon critical

But if you prefer a higher resource pool, you could also go with 2 pieces of Agility, 5 pieces of Hunding's Rage and 5 pieces of Shacklebreaker, and it would change to:

    2065 max magicka
    4913 max stamina
    1666 weapon critical
    429 weapon damage
    129 spell damage
    129 stamina/magicka recovery

    I don't know? Seems reasonable.

Why thank you! I'm pretty sure we can figure out some really nice combos together. I'm going AFK for a week, but in case this change to PvP may turn out to be permanent, I'm going to do my best to explore every possible option. If someone else hasn't already. So consider this thread a dare to any theorycrafters out there: Post something better than the last person. Or something different that's suitable for a Tank, a Healer or a magicka Nightblade..

    Curious!

If you combine 5 pieces of Leviathan, 5 pieces of Hunding's Rage, 1 piece of Slimecraw and 1 piece of Grundwulf, you'll get:

    1666 spell critical
    6935 weapon critical
    2192 stamina
    300 weapon damage

That's about 33% weapon critical on top of your base stat, without Savagery, without wearing Medium Armor, without using daggers and without the Precise trait. So.. I'm willing to bet that if you're going to use a Shadow Mundus on a Khajiit you'll be doing some ugly numbers if you make it a Nightblade.

    No?

Does a perfected arena weapon still give you the 2 piece stat? Or say the 171 spell damage on Shalk 5 piece.

Or is that considered part of the weapon's overall proc effect?

(I dont have any, just curious)

Hey, I'm no developer, but I've been told that any effect that requires a check doesn't work, and that anything which adds a flat stat works. So following that logic, Shalk Exoskeleton should give you the 171 spell damage, just not the Minor Heroism. The word ''while'' in the description gives it away; because the server has to check whether you're in combat or not. Same thing for the Perfected Arena weapons.

But like I said, I'm no developer. I'm just going with what I've been told.

Yeah thats what I was thinking too (Im on console so havent experienced the changes yet) and wasnt aure if it had been considered. Some of those 5 pieces have a nice higher than usual stat eg Shalk or Champion of the Hist.
