PART 1 - IMMERSION ADDONS
=================================================================================================
ADDONS THAT MAY HELP YOU IMMERSE YOURSELF INTO THE GAME, EACH ONE CAN ENHANCE THE GAME IN AN UNIQUE WAY
=================================================================================================

BANDITS USER INTERFACE - Version 4.298 or older
  • Has A Khajiit Mode which makes other players invisible to you! The way this AddOn works, is it makes the new players coming into your current zone invisible. The ones already there will still be visible until they leave that zone and come back. You will also still see some effects of the players even if they are invisible to you.
To start making other players invisible click on the "VanishPlayersDesc" side menu button: Pacrooti will appear, meaning: NEW players coming into the same zone as you will be invisible. Make sure you have the Bandits User Interface Version 4.298 or older to have that feature. Don't message the AddOn Creator asking questions, they only removed this feature because "tired of stupid questions about it". Once again, it only makes NEW players coming into your current zone invisible, you have to wait for the other players to leave your current zone for those players to become invisible

    It might be helpful to group your suggestions by function rather than putting them in alphabetical order. You suggest several different addons or settings which do the same thing in slightly different ways (like all the different map pin addons and settings) and it would probably be easier to read if they were adjacent so players can compare similar options more easily and choose the one which is best for them.

    Also for overall length and readability it might be helpful to use spoiler tags to hide some of the images and longer descriptions for each addon. Or just link to the ESOUI pages which will have all that info already.

    Finally, it might just be me but I don't see what a lot of these have to do with immersion. Things like advanced filters or custom categories are certainly useful but I don't understand how they could be said to be more immersive. (If the trouble I have with finding the right item in a tiny bag which contains 3 items is anything to go by I'd say having to hunt through your whole inventory for the thing you want is actually more realistic.)

    The best way to increase immersion is to play without addons, they just trivialise the gameplay and cut corners. Now, if that's what you're looking to do then that's fine, use addons, but let's not pretend that it's in order to increase your immersion.

    Thanks a TON for taking on your time to make this ; there were a lot amongst these addons that I didn't know about. So, unlike some whom are apparently just here to criticize, I say thank you !

    It's not that simple. Some addons can be used to help immersion, or have no impact on it. It depends on which ones you choose and how they're used. For example I use Azurah to move and resize the notifications so instead of gigantic text in the middle of the screen each time I do something I get a small note above the chat box which is easier to ignore.

    Also you can't seriously claim that addons which hide quest markers and reveal NPC dialogue gradually as they say it, or only after they've finished speaking "trivialise gameplay and cut corners", if anything they make it slower and harder to complete things by forcing you to actually listen to what you're being told instead of rushing to the next checkpoint.

    Clearly there are indeed some addons that can increase immersion, but I agree with your previous post. Also, those tend not to be the most popular addons that are always quoted in any list of "must have" addons. My standard advice to anyone starting out in any game would always be to play it straight to begin with and not go down the addon route because they will end up trivialising gameplay and cutting corners - and then complaining about the lack of immersion! Get the feel of the game first and then they'll be in a better position to decide where they feel their gameplay can be enhanced.

    This is an absolutely monstrous post, and a welcome addition to the list of addons I need to try out, thanks. I appreciate that you went the extra mile to specifically call out ones that would not ruin immersion; there are so many addons that look like they would be extremely useful in the context of optimizing my rotation or navigation, but are jarringly at odds with the lore and aesthetic of the game, both of which I value highly.

    That is a great idea, I will sure do that for the next update for this list. I will make it more user friendly to find what you need right away.

    Also for overall length and readability it might be helpful to use spoiler tags to hide some of the images and longer descriptions for each addon. Or just link to the ESOUI pages which will have all that info already.

    I just gave a brief description of each addon and I did link each page to ESOUI's AddOn page, Just under the AddOn's name, by clicking on the Wayshrine Icon "wayshrine.png"

    I will try to highlight that information since it can easily be over looked in the first paragraph of this post:

    "I just give a brief description for each AddOn, to read a comprehensive description of its features click on the wayshrine.png to Teleport for free to that AddOn's website."

    I agree with you on that point especially the advanced filters.

    Not really anything about immersions, just helps out a bit to find stuff quicker if you RolePlaying and want to find all the "food you have in the bp or something.

    But for the Custom Categories, since I play immersion on my main and I like to have categories of Items like" Immersion: Items in the backpack of my Horse." which I find too heavy to carry on me and can only use during rests or Campfires or "Immersion: Food made on today for the trip eat before X" or "Immersion : BP that can only carry X number of Items" or "Immersion : All my Eq for Audrion"

    I label them that way, so when I need to do stuff for events where I need to comeback to pulling good DPS for tickets or whatever, without having to empty all my innovatory and wonder what goes where I have my Main gear and I can easily distinguish between my gear.

    It's ofc way less realistic to have 210 items on you but it's could be useful to some, So I just wanted to give people the opportunity to have those options. Since everyone has there own idea of what they wish for.

    I think you missed the one that makes nights actually dark. I really like that one even though it kind of sucks if you don't have a fancy Ilambris weapon, the treasure hunter personality or a glowy memento you can spam because you don't see anything anymore.

    These AddOns are the Opposite of "SkyShards", LoreBooks, Lost Treasures and other that just make you run from A to B ignoring everything in-between. That in my opinion Trivializes everything. These AddOns do the opposite.

    Thank you so much for putting together this list! So useful and I learned a few things.

    "Immersion" is such a subjective notion that applies to aspects of UI, game design and even narrative. There are so many individual elements that can incredibly annoy one player but go completely unnoticed by another. I appreciate how many addons are available to PC players to tailor their experience and wish console players had the same flexibility!

    Have to say I agree. I have also find out that if you run or run on a mount you miss a lot of things. I know I have been to places that only a handful of players notice.... My group usually walks through Delves Dungeons and Trails, overland I usually have my mount walk (Because you can't run a horse across a continent with no rest.) Dose it take me longer? Sure, but I have the time, and I'm lucky that my set group fills the same..it's awesome never to hear GOGOGOGOGOGOGO! or HEY TANK!!!!!

    YMMV though.

    I really don't believe that @Tandor read about the AddOns I posted. They just did a TL;DR and said AddOns are bad for immersion... While this whole post is about AddOn's that add to immersion.

    Would you like to Have First person View while Walking your mount? If so there is an AddOn for that.

    I really don't see how having that AddOn trivializes the gameplay.

    I partly answered the question of immersive addons in my reply to @Danikat earlier, when I also agreed that it's difficult to see how some of the addons you refer to aid with immersion.

    However, I do happily concede that my original post wording was a bit clumsy, and when I said (in reference to addons generally and not specifically the ones you listed) "they just trivialise the gameplay and cut corners" I should have said "most of them" rather than "they". Apologies for that.

    @Tandor

    Thanks for that clarification, I see your point for some AddOn trivializing the ESO content, I was a bit taken thinking that the list of addon I put was in that category, which is exactly the opposite of what I indented.

    Lots of these AddOns are really niche and to me they serve a purpose, In the future I might explain the purpose of each for myself but that is a post of on its own.

    Yeah its pretty sad to see.

    I am just happy older versions of the Addon still have that feature.

    In Minion I set that AddOn not to Update. And still enjoy Khajiit mode.
