Title.

I don't really think typing in chat "WTB 2k crowns 1:450" will provide you safe traders, where can I be sure that I won't be scammed?

Yes but there are platforms in which the probability of being scammed is less. Like why you gotta nitpick my words, can't you just answer my question?

Black Market servers on discord are your safest bet. Send me a DM with your discord name and I'll get you into one. @Fajin

You can review the server and its members once you join before making any trade too to gain some confidence.

Are you asking for recommendations of reliable crown sellers? Or are you asking if it's safer on PC vs PS4 vs Xbox etc.?

The wording of your question influences the answers you get... and your wording didn't make it clear.

If you're looking for recommendations, you'd need to tell us what platform you play on.
And if you're asking the other thing, you should be warned that Crowns and such are per-platform; they won't transfer over to PS if you buy them on PC, for instance.

There's a couple of discord's out there that can guarantee you a "safe" transaction via brokers. However the brokers usually take a huge cut, for basically no work at all (like irl  ), so I'd just ask around in my guilds. I understand this isn't 100% safe it's very very unlikely that you will be scammed by guild members.

Also, this goes without saying, ask for the items up front! :)

Definitely second Tamriel Crown Exchange. I've bought all the DLCs and many other items on there and have never had any issues.

Is Tamriel Crown Exchange still a regulated market ?

Do they still have that only 15 crates per month rule?

Or is it an open market now?

Because I am terrible person I just understood "platforms" as PC and console, not web sites or communicating platforms such as discord, my bad.

The solution for this is COD with crowns, and yes ZOS must implement this, because they have already made crowns tradable! So good people can trade crowns without being scammed.

Ask for the items up front, seriously? No one in their right mind is going to spend their hard earned cash on the promise you will send them the gold afterwards. Gold gets sent first on all crown sales, if for no other reason than to prove you even have it, since many times we are talking millions of gold.

I like this idea because I would like to buy crowns just to have on hand for buying multiple small housing items. The way it is now this is not possible.

Yes, I can just buy crowns with cash, but I have a lot of gold I'll probably never spend so I'd like to use it instead.

Letting us use COD, or just be able to trade, would be ideal, and safe.

I've been sending items upfront in amounts of 20k crowns almost monthly ever since they introduced crown->gold legally. Never gotten scammed. Not once. On the other hand I hear about lots of scams where the buyer sent their gold first and never got his/her items.

I sold crowns a fair number of times (mostly because I don't like cs items and you get free crowns from eso+ ^^).
I have always gifted the items up front, and I've never been scammed. On the other hand, most people who regularly buy crowns have been conned at some point, so I think it's totally fair to say that the overwhelming majority of scammers are crown sellers, and not buyers.
And while it's true that your money is hard earned, the same thing goes for in game gold. Or do you really believe that people enjoy the gruelling IC grind?

Whenever I've sold Crowns I've always requested gold first.

If buyer is uncomfortable with that, I just go on with my day, I'm not going to sit there and argue with them because I don't really care whether I sell them or not. Crowns are much more valuable than gold in that they slowly increase in value vs gold over time and gold does the opposite.

I wish people would stop calling it "buying crowns" because it's not. It's the buyer giving gold to the seller who then gifts an agreed upon item from the Crown store to the buyer.

There is no way for the buyer to give gold to the seller and receive crowns in exchange.

But that's still technically buying. By definition to buy is to "obtain in exchange for payment." I pay with gold and obtain crowns.

It's buying but it's not buying crowns. It's paying another player gold for them to gift you an item. So you are buying an item, not crowns.

You do not pay with gold and obtain crowns.

Plenty of trusted Discord Servers to choose from.

I am the GM of Tamriel Crown Exchange and we have never had a scam take place in our server, but as mentioned we do have fixed rates and limits - to help keep supply up so we can fill all orders. The upside with TCE is your order will always be filled and safely so, you never have to wonder if someone will accept your order or worry about being scammed.

    discord.gg/TCE

There's also World Crown Exchange - which offers a free market, kind of like a bulletin board in which you post your desires and hope someone replies. They also have brokers available should you wish to have one.

Additionally if there's Crown Black Market, if you're specifically looking for PC-EU. They are also a free market and operate similar to WCE.

    https://discord.gg/X2c7TnJ

The biggest thing is just doing your homework. Use sellers others have vouched for, ask for a Broker if you feel more comfortable, etc. : )

Just for reference, TCE Brokers are only used for new sellers and on large sales, where scams are more likely to occur. When they are used, the tax is 5-7%, half of which goes into TCE's insurance fund (data is posted publicly for accountability in our server) the other half which is to pay the Broker, for taking time out of their personal play time, to facilitate the trade and document it.

I'm on PC NA and I've only bought crowns in zone chat. I've bought around 20k crowns and never been scammed. I prefer zone chat because the rate is much lower than those discord servers.
