For at least 3 years everything this game has done has made it easier to be a PvP Troll
It started with CC Immunity, Stun Immunity, absurd Recovery, more skills to give you immunity, sets and rings to make sure you can't be stunned or immobilized. Now skills like Fossilize light up like once every 3 minutes, Talons, Mines etc are just for damage and ball groups can run through a doorway past an entire defending army and not a single guy will fall off their crown...
Next was all the specialized damage sets. Things like Shield Breaker, Elegant .. any set that could do really high damage against a specific build, even if it was worthless against everyone else... it if could kill whatever the Meta was supposed to be you nerfed it, sometimes just totally changing the entire purpose.
Then came the massive health META, the average health in Cyrodil going from 23-25k to 35k.... with 30+ resistance, massive heals, and just really hard to die.
and now Proc Sets, I get the Defensive Sets... don't really need Crimson, but very few people run damage procs as it is, the occasional Calaarunn, people aren't running Viper anymore or Mad Tinkerer... but like Burning Spellweave? or even Silks of the Sun.. stuff like that is now considered procs?
It's like the devs do not understand that a huge portion of your player base is about builds.. we don't all want to show up with the exact same armor set, exact same build, exact same stats and just try to "out play" the other guy-- some people do, sure---- but for a lot of us games like this are a puzzle. What set up can I create to beat the Meta? That used to be the group comp discussion before it became "ballgroup everyone spam Sap Essence or Pulsar with a couple healers"...
Have you not paid attention to other fantasy based MMORPG's that came and went down the same path? No one wants Generic, and most players won't admit it, but games that have too much balance fail.- The best memory of any gamer will be the overpowered silly stuff that came and went, look at Destiny 2's launch. I know no it's not the same genre, but no other game had such a player base and then lost it in the first 6 months not due to performance but because the game was dull.
Instead of taking everything away, maybe you should just go back to 2017 and put everything back. It would be a better game
