Free Race Change Tokens

In Previous updates when there have been broad changes to Racial passives accounts were given X amount of race change tokens to account for the fact that we would have chosen differently had these passives been live when we created the account. Given that race change tokens cost 3000 crowns this in the past came across as quite the ethical move rather than forcing changes and forcing people to pay for those changes (with real money).

I feel like this update will be introducing enough racial changes that a lot of people are going to be forced into changing their races yet we haven't heard anything in relation to race change tokens. Has ZOS just missed the communication on this or has the reasoning for previously doing it changed???

The problem is 'how many?'

Some players only have 1 character, some have 18... so, do they only give 1? or 18? Or...? At some point, it either screws over some, or overly blesses others, etc. Cannot just give 1 to the 1, and 18 to the 18, since it's 3K per... which means the 1 only got the equivalent of 3K, and the 18 player gets 54K. So... what to do? How to make it fair?

I can't remember how they did it last time, but whatever they did worked.....

It's not like they are transferrable so its not unfair for a person with 1 character to get 1 and a person with 18 to get 18. A person with 1 character will only need 1 race change token if they are unhappy with the changes. A person with 18 characters may very well need 18.....

True... 'may'. But, what of a person with 18, and is happy with all 18 right now and after the change? Now, they have 18 tokens saved up, can use them at any point later when they decide they wanna try out a different build due to some new set or whatever. That's not a 'right' thing.

Yes, that is correct and was at the time of Wrathstone, several months before I started playing and puzzling why my Bosmer had no stealth advantage...

ZOS racial changes never had to do with "balance".

I agree, a free race change or added to daily rewards would be nice.

Edit: just read the article update....we get a non combat pet (bambi), what a joke.

What race you need to change? Some got nerfs but the foodchain remained the same. High elf still on top for mag dps and Orc, Khajiit, Dunmer still good stam choices. Nord, Imperial still best tanks and Argonian still the bottom of all.

Ok, I think I figured out a good way to handle:

Every account gets 1 token per 50th lvl character on that account. These tokens last for 30 days past the first time the account is logged in after the patch. This prevents tokens from being used for reasons other than to fix the characters due to the racial passives changes, while allowing plenty of time to decide if you need to change or not, and allowing one change per character high enough to be very inconveniencing to change through releveling.

Except Orc has gone from the top of the food chain to maybe 3rd or 4th for Stam, probably on par with woodelf.

Imperial has been nerfed with the resource changes, don't think 6% cost reduction would warrant any one wanting to stay an Imp on their tank.

Maybe a bad idea, but what about just as the Cp allocation being free for the first two weeks, race changes are free for the first two weeks. There will be no physical coin but instead a button that allows you to change your race for any character. This prevents hoarding of coins and also give a window for people to change there toon without a limit.

Zos already stated that they are not going to give us race change tokens..... so it is not happening sadly

Then keep making posts for free race change tokens stating your case. Like the woodelf people. I think you actually stand a better chance of getting them to change their mind. In fact I hope you succeed.

Still have my three from the last time. Never used them. Not sure why I'd ever want to use them. Passives aren't why I picked my characters' races.

And there's even a vast range in between"roleplaying" and Meta/Min-Max. Someone might try to build an "effective" build, without worrying about 1-2% DPS. Especially when the max DPS people are getting is so far above what's actually needed.

I change to highelf, since nord has been nerfed to 2600 which increase your armor by 3.9%, highelf with channeling heavy attack (lightning staff) will grant me 5% dmg reduction so highelf is better than nord, also this 5% still count when u have maximum resist (33000) while nord give nothing when you already at max resist

I really don't think we are getting any.... there really is not a community upraor and zos already stated they are not going to.... unless over the weekend a massive uproar happens wich I don't think will happen nothing is going to change sadly
