I've watched this video, and the it explain how open world pvp work for Fallout 76. I think it's interesting ideal. And I'm sure it will work well for ESO. It will open a lot of fun for pvp player like me, and avoide pve player to be impacted.

Yes, I'm sure a game that is full of exploits and ways to circumvent intended mechanics would create a very healthy PvPvE environment in Elder Scrolls Online and wouldn't at all be a total pain in the behind to anyone who just wants to PvE in peace. Nope, nuh uh, no problems here!

I can just imagine it; You're doing a world boss with some other players when suddenly your staff or whatever desides to target another player (just like they target critters for no reason) and bam, PVP

Please stop, fallout 76 cant be compared to eso.

Eso is like made by the divines and fallout 76 is made by the daedra to make the player suffer.

And yes I play fallout 76, I stop coz I already finish the scoreboard, and got bored.

    Not another openworld PvP thread?

    No.

    Just no.

I like my PvP in Cyrodiil, I don't want it everywhere. And anyway, most people would have it turned off making it a very lonely place for you and the other person that has it turned on.

ESO already have pacifist mode. It's called overland zones.

They had this in GTA Online. Its beyond lame. Basically, people would gank or snipe or whatever, then slip into passive mode to avoid repercussions when their victim respawned. Plus, passive mode lacked all the fun stuff of "kill everyone in the world' mode.

ESO is good as it is when it comes to separating PVE from PVP

we have been asking for this for eso now since beta 7 years ago.
it's a hot heated debate, some like it some dont.
it would be the best thing eso ever did in my opinion, mainly cause i love pvp.
flagging yourself on/off would be awesome and i personally wish it would happen.

    Why?

Cyrodiil and IC were designed as PvPvE zones, and that shows in their quests and objectives. The overland zones were not designed as PvPvE areas and that also shows in their quests and objectives.

What sort of PVP are you imagining that isn't dueling, anyway?

I played F76, there is no pvp on/off option. There are plenty of times and places when a person who just wants to pve gets pulled into pvp against their will.

In F76 you have the option to avoid damaging other players, that is not the same pvp off mode. I have had plenty of times when another player will try to trick/troll me into entering a pvp situation. We don’t need that here.

You can have the option turned on that prevents damaging other players, and still become marked for pvp and killed quite quickly.
All you are asking for is a way to troll other players.

I think it would be a waste of their time. After the first week or so most players would make sure they are set to PvE only. The few wanting to PvP would need to set up a place to meet ahead of time just to find each other as zones outside of Cyrodiil were not designed with PvP in mind.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

    Under two conditions:

    1. It is optional and being set to off is the default state

    2. Attacking another player who has PvP flagged on would be considered an illegal act so would get you the same bounty as attacking an NPC, killing them would net you the same bounty as killing an NPC.
