I need to have a TOOOOON of walls to build structures. I don't want to waste crowns or gold. What's the least expensive walling option? (Leave aside the wood planks, those are TOO ghetto)
Cheapest after the rough planks are probably the Scavenged Plates from the CWC furnishing merchant.
But these are on the smaller side so they'll set you back in slots.
For a more organic look, you can use the Limestone Shelf furniture from the Summerset furnishing merchant, but it may take a bit to get a continuous flat wall from both sides (the bottom is flat; the top is curved).
Elsweyr Platform, Wooden Large and Elsweyr Wall, Rough Wooden are decently sized, cheap-ish to produce green quality walls, and are a step up from the 'wood planks' so they don't look as shoddy as those. Or maybe Solitude Shed, Wood Lean-To if you don't mind the wonkiness.
With the current price of furniture (esp. Heartwood) most walls have become more expensive to craft or buy from traders. But you may want to look at some of the larger ones (as you'll need less of them to cover a larger structure so they may be worth the price even though they're more expensive). Check out the 'Structures' subsection of this furnishing gallery/list: https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/furnishings/ , you may be able to find walls that you like and that also work for your budget.
I'm building a tower mostly out of Alinor Walls and Fences (there are regular and long versions of each). I get bonus height by flipping one and aligning it atop another; you can bury the wall's patterned molding or the fence's metal grating in the floor or ceiling if you want pure white bricks.
Both styles offer posts for separation (though they align well to look continuous), and the wall has a corner version that I've used to make cylindrical turrets.
All praxes are available via Legerdemain in Summerset (robbing houses, mostly found in trunks and such), or for sale on guild traders.Crafting them can get expensive if you don't have the materials: Mundane Runes, of course, but the Alinor style calls for 2 Culanda Lacquer, awarded for Summerset dailies and usually for sale at traders for 3-4k each.
Never looked for the items themselves at traders, but I'd imagine that those who can craft them make some gold selling batches of them.
Hard to say without knowing exactly what you're doing. The Coral Shelves from the Alinor Home Goods furnisher cost like a few hundred gold each and are flat on the bottom, but not proper rectangles:
The Coldharbour rocks from the Coldharbour home goods furnisher are also flat on the bottom, with a dark marble sort of look on the flat bottom:
People use both of these for walls every now and then, but usually just for like fully interior structures like rooms and corridors, not fences. I've made polished mountain tunnels with the Coldharbour ones.
Mundane Rune and Heartwood are used to craft most walls and floors, but are really expensive right now. But if you have the mats or don't mind farming, they're not that bad to craft. I think Elsweyr Platform, Ancient Rectangular by FAR gives you the most total wall size for your runes. It's ... really hugelarge:
All that in just 1 furnishing slot 😳 for 13 Mundane Rune
Depending on where you're building and if you can see only one side or not, the Solitude Floor is a large rectange and the bottom of it is pretty nice wood.
Thanks to it's size, it can cover quite a bit of area
