Issues with Rivenspire Quests

My friend is trying to do the DC quest line, and has come to a problem:

Between talking to Emeric in Shornhelm at the end of "Shornhelm Divided" and the beginning of the follow up quest "Dream-Walk into Darkness", he isn't getting the prompt for the new quest, or any sort of quest icon (the main quest icon)

He has finished the first, completely (as far as we can figure out), but when talking to Emeric, he just says typical stuff and goodbye. When trying to talk to Count Verandis, friend gets the vampires eating their meal cutscene like he is supposed to, but then Count just apologizes for the scene (like he is supposed to), and goodbye.

No quests... he has done every DC quest up to then in the main questline, but cannot get this one. Any suggestions?

    Hmm. I think I remember that if you have some prologue quest in your log (maybe the Abnur Tharn one for Elsweyr?) Dream Walk is borked. Search on Dream Walk into Darkness in the forum - there's a a whole thread somewhere about it.

    Ok... trying that. He does have a prologue quest, but also has 21 quests in his log. So, I told him to abandon all the dumb side quests (if he wants to save little tommy's cat, he can go back and do that some other time, or just go do it!), and finish the prologue quest (the one for Morrowind). See if that fixes the problem.

    So, thank you for replying so quickly! Hope this works...

    "We are aware of an issue where the prologue quest "The Ravenwatch Inquiry" is not able to be completed and will block your ability to progress "Dream-Walk Into Darkness."

    If you are experiencing this issue and have completed "Shornhelm Divided" from either King Emeric or Count Verandis Ravenwatch, locate "The Ravenwatch Inquiry" quest in your journal and abandon it. Once you do that, you should be able to proceed with your quest.    "
