Help me create a handsome fella-male character :)

I never played with a male character yet I am a big fan of Altmer males

They have this fierce look and sharp face features (not to objectify males :P)

I used to think I wouldn't be able to roleplay with male character but now I understand guys playing with female chars

There arent many sliders online, not as many as female ones

How do you make some fierce-warrior like looking characters? I got the hang of making pretty/strong females but sliders in male options betray me

What is the secret? Wide shoulders? How tall is too tall or how muscular too muscular errr, I am stuck

@Cirantille since everyone has their own preferences, perhaps you could post a screenshot of an Altmer npc you like the appearance of to get more targeted advice on the look you’re after?

For Altmer, wherever you put the height slider, they will be tall. I like the right side of the triangle for body, nearer to the top, and then no need to adjust individual body sliders much IMO, although I do like to make the posterior of my male characters a bit less flat, just a bit more shape.

For face I often go through a lot of experimentation to see the range of what is possible before finding what I like for a particular character. With a better idea of what you’re going for, I might be able to give suggestions. I think my guys are handsome.

To my shame, I haven't had Morrowind installed for quite some time now; so I'm afraid not. ;p

But on topic, for my personal male Altmer character I was wanting a SorcTank build and I decided to make him in a kind of "colossal factotum" sort of look. I maxed the height, went nearly into the top "Muscular" corner on the pyramid, and maxed most sliders so he's got the biggest broadest shoulders/arms/legs/etc. a Mer can get. Something more moderate would probably be better for general use / attractiveness, but I like the way he turned out, overall. Since I kinda wanted him to be as big as possible (I like my Tanks to be easier to spot in the chaos), it works for me; but the proportions do feel a bit off here and there.

I think Emderil (enchanter in Summerset crafting area) - he has still that Aldmeri sharp face features but he also looks cute


Or Mangildiril from Rellenthil bathouse are both great looking - though this one looks a bit older, can make him younger

Joking aside he indeed looks huge, I saw a max slider Altmer once in crafting area, even as Altmer female I was spooked

But it fits your role & character perfectly, may he live a long Elven life

I have ten characters and only three of them are male, two of which are khajiit. The lack of diversity in character settings for males is disturbing and reminds me of this meme.


But here's my altmer. I pretty much maxed out on body sliders and went with heroic face.

But yeah, I agree with you, there are so many accessories and make ups for female characters that I didn't have much issue customising them but err even the number of beards are limited, maybe thats why I am struggling

Beauty is subjective. So unless we're told what you consider handsome and fierce, we can't be of much help!

I often find characters posted as attractive here on the forum, well, not so attractive

I would be glad for more slider options for faces, male and female -- more eyebrows, variance in mouth shape, etc. At least with elves, I feel that I am able to modify the face shape how I want, whereas with Bretons and Nords it's very difficult to get other than a beady-eyed potato!

I played around with the sliders again and I think male Altmer look best somewhere in the angular spectrum, softened or emphasized as you prefer. I usually bring the chin up a bit as the middle still looks a bit exaggerated to me. Important is to adjust the height of the eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth to achieve nice balance and proportions.

I like this for body style -- lean and muscular and then I wouldn't adjust the other sliders too much or the proportions look odd to me.

I don't know if any of that is helpful?

Indeed. There are and were cultures where androgynity or femininity was the beauty standard. There are ancient Chinese and Japanese poems describing young male warriors as "as beautiful as a woman" - and that was a compliment. People with that ideal in mind would probably not be very enthusiastic over a hunky muscle guy.

To each their own - a description would help, though.

Very, because the point you picked for body triangle, it is perfect, not super gigantic not so thin, just like someone who fights out in field, i love it

Excuse the crappy costume, I have yet to find time to sit at outfit station for 1.5 hours to find the perfect styles

Idk if anyone has mentioned this but try hitting the randomizer for a while. I sometimes end up with facial geometry I know I couldn't achieve with just the sliders. Good if you're trying to escape racial "same face" syndrome.

My guys pretty fem. He has makeup and dangly earrings that I bought special from the crown store. It's great when I can find tight pants for him, most of the drops in the trouser region are baggy.

Yeah, I’ve found some pretty awesome looking configurations that I never would have tried that way. I usually lock the bits I want to keep (eg eye color, body shape, voice) and then click randomize a few times.

If you do want a pretty boy, just start at soft and slide along the bottom towards angled until your happy with it. But you'll never get rid of altmer brow any more than you can be rid of Dunmer eyebags.

This is my necro, hope it gives you some inspiration. Small bit of advice, to make my characters look fierce, I usually give them a fairly neutral expression and then I use the angry personality. That way you have the option of changing your characters "mood" if you ever feel like it.
