With Update 29 resetting all Skill Points. What are you using to save your Skill Point setups?

Update 29 is going to reset all skill points so you will have to reapply the skills and the morphs you chosen.

What are you using to save your current settings?

NOTE:
The last time ZOS did this, I used" CharDump" Add-on but it is outdated and nor longer supported..

Memory, not that it would be any hard to pick the right morphs after using most of them for years.

Eh, more than that. I have 60 characters....

I only have 8 characters, so I don't think it will take me long to redo it all.

    Nothing but my brain.

Generally these days morphs only have one obvious choice for your direction.

Looks interesting as a quicker back and forth between specs if it captures both skills and cp, hate those manual swaps from mag to stam and back.

Silly question, but if everyone is just going to put their skill points right back, why force a reset?

Couldn't we just be given a character-bound one-time skill reset scroll instead?

It's apparently necessary to undo some backend technical mishaps that made a skill point or few simply vanish entirely for some players. A global skill point reissuing was the only way to fix it, evidently.

I think I am going to just remember it all. Not really that hard. All the class, weapon, guild, armor, vampire and werewolf passives, then some craft passives like medicinal use and after that I just pick the skills I need for my builds to function and check again which morphs are the good ones.

@Miszou Because there has been an error that made skill points vanish, so ZOS is pulling the breaks and forcibly resets all our skill points, adding back the ones that vanished in the process and implementing a change in the system that keeps track of them so they can't get lost in the future.

Just writing down works as well.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Might use notebook, but not really needed. Never used notebook any other time they did resets. Just used brain. Good enough. If I get brain injury somehow between now and reset I will have much worse things to worry about than forgetting skill allocations for characters in a video game.

I've got a couple of characters I'm not using it on because I WANT to change them up. The rest I'm happy to be able to just click a button and not have to mess with it on all of them.

A notebook next to my computer ;)

I am trying to plan my research around it though. If I can just pop a bunch of points into the crafting research right before the update hits, I can get a few more things researched than I normally would. And then I can also be a bit more judicious about spending those points when it's back up.

It was an error that gave people extra skill points, not one that made them vanish.

It took the bug with the werewolf ultimate and soul trap eating our skill points for them to discover this underlying problem, but they claim the points were restored from WW/soul trap already. It is the removal of these extra points that’s requiring a complete reset.

I will just put them all back where they were, vast majority will be for passives, as for active skills just start with what you usually slot on your skill bars and re add points to other active skills as you go when you need them.

Sorting out how I want to allocate my CP will probably take awhile though.

Easy to put back everything manually as after the reset the the skills page shows which skills/morphs were developed (at least on PTS you can see them)

I play on PC but I don't use any add-ons. I was planning to save everything manually using a pen and paper, or maybe just take pictures with my phone. Can't console users do that sort of thing if they want to? Not being able to use add-ons doesn't mean you won't be able to save anything.

Of course it was a bug that favored players. That is how these games work. Fix things that do that but ignore or only slowly work on the other end! (Not just ESO.)

This will be a pain for me with so many alts. I am not sure what I will do, probably stumble my way forward again.

You mean will reapply skill points the same way? Now is the prime chance to experiment with new skills and builds, since we're getting a free skill and CP respec (Ain't paying another 30k)

Nothing, many of my characters were specced when I was still new to the game. And they were specced before many many patches happened. So I am going to manually do all 18 of my characters.

Not going to write anything down though, I will see what happens.

The only things I am afraid of is missing to set easy-to-forget skills on any of my characters: Pursuade / intimidate / undaunted hp and synergy / magesguild inner light / inner fire on my tanks/ etc. Skills that fall outside the normal skillsetting for damage and crafting. Ohw, and running out of skillpoints before I am done.

When is Update 29 planned to be released, anyway? Is it going to coincide with the next Dungeon release-- that is, the first DLC in the 2021 storyline?

Why save the settings? I will just buy back the skills I intend to use soon, or that I want to level up (if I have the spare skill points to do that).

Why go back to the old setup? With Cp2.0 every build changes anyway. 🤷‍♂️
I will take the opportunity to reassess my builds.

I mean, I get not wanting to do it on 60 toons. But honestly, they will all have to change eventually.

    1. Spend points only in core skills only.
    2. Use the Reset Morph option at the Shrine.
    3. Look at the Morphs thru that window, cost you nothing to swap back and forth, looking at both options before confirming your pick.

I have 42 or so characters and will log them in over time and rebuild them as I deem appropriate based on both their previous allocation as I recall it and any reviews I want to make of their build. I'll also need to look through the new CP system and see how best to allocate those points where appropriate (my NA characters on two accounts don't yet have any CPs).
