Favorite zones for specific races and classes?

I still regard myself as a "fairly new" player of ESO-online. As of right now, I only have three active characters that I have started to systematically develop. I am about to create a few new characters. For some reason, I am struggling with the question of where to place them on the map of Tamriel, i.e. to determine some kind of home zone for them. I have mainly used both Summerset and Auridon as the base stations for my High Elf MagSorc, because that is the region where the high elves originates from and which function as their homeland, and Northern Elsweyr for my Khajiit StamBlade, because that's the place where the cats come from.

I have left the other zones from being too much explored by my current characters, because I want to "save" them for my other characters to explore. I am thinking about choosing a suitable zone for them based on their Alliance, race and maybe also their class.

I am wondering, if anyone of you have any specific zones for your characters based on their alliance, race and class, or do you wander freely around Tamriel without applying any specific homes for your characters?

PS. I think I place myself in too much of a psychological prison with these kinds of thoughts, but I have to ask this question, because it has bothered me for so long now.

Well I suppose it would have to do with the backstory you may have made with your characters? Were they born & raised in their ancestral homeland, developed ties to the area? Were they raised abroad or vagabonds? There's obviously no "right" answer. Only what you feel is natural to your character.
I'm an altoholic & generally use whatever race's ancestral homeland I roll up, until such time as my travels take me abroad. Back when I started I had a "community" home for my char's but have since begun to branch out & am slowly providing each with their own domicile.

My characters all have their backstories, so they also have a place they are from, or where they currently have a residence at. They cross the whole continent for their travels, though.

Idc where my alts are from

I am (my main) from Summerset and they shall all stay in Summerset and bow to the rightful owner of throne, the Queen :p

Ps. The ones need horse feeding, I park them to Rawlkha until maxxed out since horse feed + craft rotation is easier there

I guess most characters favorite zones would be the one with most of your race, its also the place you are far more likely to grow up because of statistic.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I use Rawl as main base because its an Khajiit town in addition to being an pretty nice base.

Been here since launch, call it nostalgia, but I can't help but love Glenumbra. My first character was a Breton sorc and my Warden later.

I look back at the days with fondness before One Tamriel when zones were level based and dieing was much more common.

But it is a very well thought out zone and well developed. With the likes of The Wyrd sisters and the whole Werewolf storyline.

    Thank you for the answers!

My own thought about the main characteristics that defines a characters permanent residence are as follows 1) the place where they have their home och house, 2) the town or village (or other settlement) where they do their daily crafting writs and 3) where they are using the crafting stations to improve their attributes.

I did not think about the character's possible backstories when I wrote my question, but that definitely has an effect on the choice of region.

Of course the characters can travel around Tamriel as much as possible, but I always want to have a permanent residence for them to travel back to after they have completed or experienced the tasks at hand. But maybe some of them have to be vagabonds of some sort.
