Swg had a similar system with TK - unarmed fighter. They'd use knuckle dusters but the majority of the balance in damage effectively came from damage passives. Could work well here too
It’s funny because I see so much hype for a monk or unarmed lately and I’m totally down for either. I remember in es3 morrowind I loved doing acrobatic hand to hand combat and as well in oblivion.

Toggle skill like Mend Wounds. Replaces your light attacks with a little healy ball from your hands. A melee damage-focused monk skill like this could easily hide weapons when active
