Im soloing a Patrolling horror. And i get it down to 10% and i get a dizzying swing in the back then another stun which kills me but they run away from the boss and attempt to finish it off. I go back again and they gank me again when the boss is at 5%.

I know its the game and its pvp. But its like punching someone in the back of the head to try and knock them out when they dont know youve snuck up behind them.

They could at least let me complete the kill and loot it before ganking me. Just cowardly and dumb imo

Can they? Yes.

It's not honourable but it happens so often whenever I take these bosses on I keep my heals, resolve skills, and other defensive buffs up at all times. Sometimes I'll even bring the bosses into choke points if I can in order to keep hostile players from wanting to run past the boss and get at me.

Play your cards right and you might end up killing them with the boss. Like the one watcher does a very high damage spinning charge and I've used that to wipe gankers out. Requires you having boss aggro though so you can aim it.

Should they attack you before you've killed the boss?

Yes if they want Tel Var. If they kill you first, they get half your Tel Var plus all the boss Tel Var. If they let you get credit for the kill, they only get half the boss' Tel Var. If they then kill you afterward, they only get 3/4ths of the boss' Tel Var, total.

Why should they let you get credit for the boss kill, unless they are feeling gracious and willing to give up a quarter of the Tel Var? Or for that matter, unless they are willing to lose it all in the case where, upon seeing them come to share in the boss' bounty, you attack then instead and come out victorious?

Tel Var is about risk/reward, not about honor.


(If I wanted honorable duels, I'd go to the Undaunted tents instead of farming IC bosses for PVP currency and other rewards.)

It is called MMORPG. When someone play NB, they are supposed to sneak up on unsuspected and attack you preferably from behind. We all hate gankers/bombers but that is from ZOS game design and RPG tradition.

I doubt a DK tank snuck up on you and ganked you or a Temp healer healed you to death.
