Loincloth or bathing towel?

So I’m sure iv seen eso players wearing next to nothing as an outfit, pretty much under pants. How do I get this or find in the guild trader?

I have the bathing towel already and I’m sure there’s something shorter than the bathing towel. I’m sure it’s not just players with unequipt items with them fighting in dungeons and trials too.

Shorter than the bathing towel?! I've already got half cheek out with it on

Other than the timbercrow costume (that you get with 50 siege of Cyrodiil merits and one siege of Cyrodiil distinction or in guild stores for uhm a lot) there are also the doeskin and egg-sister ones. They're quite revealing and I'd like to have them very much but alas, they're not available ATM

All my toons have outfit set configurations like this:

Hide Helm

Any shoulder (Honor Guard Light, for smallest footprint.

**Khajit Light Jerkin (has a skirt like extension)

Note there are only around 20 tops(chest) in the game that extend past the beltline. Most are found in the light armor section. Some in the Signature section.

Medium Orc Belt to Hide belt since it is bugged and does not show up.

Prisoner's Handcuffs
Prisoner's Shoes
For the most skin.

Most importantly:

For pants I use Clear Slot and don't wear any.

Full cheek in effect.

All other tops are Mom Jeans beltline or full of flaps and look bad with no pants.

They did this on purpose also.

I put pants on to fight anything other than overland mobs.

I find the Nordic bathing towel to be... yeuch. I'd much rather remove all of my gear and run around in my underwear than use that giant diaper-looking monstrosity. Plus, when I see another player wearing it I think "They want everybody to think they're not using any armor but under that memento they're still decked-out with some BIS META proc sets."

Nordic Bather Towel because as its about as short as you're going to get atm if that's what you're aiming for.

Also, I'm not a big fan of either anymore tbh. I know back in the day flexing those hard fought for skins usually meant you pop the Nordic on and sit in Belkarth like yay look at dis. As I've gotten more into fashion scrolls (LOL) I've shelved those styles and skins tbh and focus more on outfit combos. This is just my way now and no disrespect to those who like either of the two...

I'm on the same page as you. Towel + skin seems like the laziest application of those skins, to me. I appreciate it when I see people work the skin into a more intentional look. Myself, the only skin I'm using is the void pathosis one, on a black khajiit, who I have decked out in golds and blacks + seafarer's crowning trim hair to look like a sphinx cat + Bastet type figure. It works out well, since the skin makes your toon look wrinkly, like a naked cat.

To answer OP's question, yeah, I think Nordic bather's towel is the shortest you'll get. Try to get your hands on the doeskin costume (as mentioned by someone else) if you want a fashion upgrade, though.

As long as outfit system lacks basic functionality of hiding any slot I'm not bothering with it. I guess it's because devs can't unravel spaghetti to do that without turning player completely invisible.

I dyed it a nice green and my Dark Elf Gloria wears it and Cadwell's hat for a fishing outfit. She is often the only person on the beach in appropriate attire.

I prefer the Mazzatun skirts. Give em a taste with some leg but leave everything else above the knee to the imagination.

The only thing shorter than a bath towel is just your underwear... Khajiit and Argonian undies are boxers, whereas men/mer wear briefs.

I tried the towel but from behind it looks more like a backless dress... Immersion breaking for my male character. I prefer the Argonian kilt, both to see my expensive skins and to feel like an ancient Roman/Greek.

I hate the flip flops look. I prefer doeskin-and-chamois woods wear.

Timbercrow Wanderer is the other really revealing costume apart from Nordic Bather's Towel that doesn't clip your legs. It's still worth a good million or two if you are too lazy to do 50 Imperial City dailies (the quests are easy PvE things, bit you gotta watch out for gankers/griefers/PvPers/anything that moves in Imperial City) to get the merits to unlock it yourself.
