Poison Whip

So I noticed that Molten Whip actually has a unique 2h animation, it's really cool, and it has me wondering why, after all these years, we don't have a good stamina spammable for DKs, like some kind poison whip. I'm quite jealous of stamina sorcs who got their crystal weapon, while we got the overdone stone giant. Please, after so long of throwing StamDKs under the bus, could you throw us a bone ZOS?

and while I'm here, just think how cool it would be if Stone Giant functioned like Scorch or Blastbones, just ignore how that would affect PvP

    Both morphs of Whip are currently used by MagDKs. Having a ranged stun taken away for the StamDK spammable was pretty painful, and I personally dearly miss Crystal Blast—though it wasn't popular, and Crystal Weapon is def cool and good

    I can't speak for everyone, but I imagine MagDKs would prefer they make one Whip morph scale with highest stats, or rework Stone Giant again to be more popular, rather than take away a useful mag morph for stam builds

    If it takes adding a stamina poison whip as a 3rd morph option, then so be it

    It'd be perfect if Molten Whip scaled off whatever pool was higher. Its unprecedented but would be a stellar option.

    It would then compete with Dizzying swing, though.

    I'm well aware that people use both morphs on MagDKs. So I have a few suggestions to improve DK dps experience.

    1. Change lava whip: Alter base ability do what molten whip does. Combine what flame lash and molten whip do and call it the mag spammable. Change molten whip morph to poison stamina morph and add stagger effect from stone fist and call it the stam spammable.
    2. Change empowering chains: I have literally only seen one person use this ability in all of my 5 years in eso, and that person was me to see if it is worth, it is not. This could be replaced with a different stam spammable.
    3. Change DK dps passives: let's be honest the class could use some crit,flat %damage done, or excute, because every single other class does.

    As a stam DK main I will love to have a poison whip. Stone giant is too slow for me, poison whip could be faster and more spammable. Also DK don't have class execute ability, so why not do it for poison whip?

    Leave it alone and instead make Stonefist more enjoyable!

    Zos also can improve the mag morph, why not? This improvement will be balance friendly because DK is underpowered in PVE

    Either make a Poison whip or have lava whip scale off of our highest stat.

    Honestly, I might prefer it if ZOS puts an end to the DK poison motif completely and have ALL ardent flame abilities scale to spell or weapon damage. Which ever is highest.

    That's a little selfish, don't you think? DK's only have 3 skills that actually cost stamina (Noxious Breath, Venomous Claw, Stone Giant) and 1 skill that costs magicka a PvE StamDK DPS might actually use (Flames of Oblivion).

    Dragonknights are said to be inheritors of the Akaviri martial arts, and yet, that's the same amount of stamina skills as Sorcerers, a class whose name literally means "to have magic powers", not to mention that StamSorcs are currently the best Stamina DPS' out there.

    I know that Molten Whip has its place in PvE, and Flame Lash has its place in PvP, but any PvE MagDK can see that the bonuses that the Molten Whip morph provide are a little counter-intuitive, I mean, all other Ardent Flame abilities that a MagDK would use are DoTs, yet Molten Whip encourages spamming them for the bonus? I say give Flame Lash a little more versatility for use in both PvE and PvP, and give Molten Whip to the StamDK's.

    Definitely agree with you on Stone Giant though.

    It would have to be better than dizzy swing, that StamDks start using it. That would cause other stam players to cry for nerfs...

    Just introduce 3rd morph for some of class skills.
    Its 2021.

    Any buff to PvE stamDK dps would be appreciated. It is currently the worst DD with weak burst damage (weak during burn phases), mostly melee skills (making aoe heavy content like CR and AS a nightmare), and just low damage output overall. It is only relevant in trial compositions where tanks are unable to bring stone giant.

    Poison whip would be great. But for starters, removing the 0.4 second cast time on the initial hit of stonefist would make stamDK's spammable a lot less clunky.

    Perhaps a trade? StamDK gets Stam-Whip and MagDK gets the old Stone Giant back? (don't play much DK, but miss that ranged stun)

    As much as I love old stone giant what morph would they replace a stam whip for? Flame Lash is amazing at sustain since it comes at a cheaper cost when hitting certain things and a stun, while the other morph is all about pushing your DPS ever higher.

    At first, I use to think just make it scale from highest offensive stat like templar's cleansing ritual. The problem with that is it would still cost magic unless the ZOS would code it also to use the highest offensive stat as cost and I don't think nothing in game as far as skill scales like that.

    So now I am back to make one morph be magic and one stamina. Poison would be nice and be like searing strike with a poison and fire morph each, but not necessary. The questions would be which morph to keep for magic and what would be secondary effect for the stamina morph? A bleed like cutting dive for wardens would be a nice secondary effect for it since after all it is a “whip” and help fit the DOT theme.

    Or they could fix the multiple personality issue that is stone giant, but I lost hope for that.

    While they are at it for the love of god take Major Expedition off empowering chains and move it to wings and let it last 6 seconds like warden’s wings. Throwing a chain doesn’t really make one think of speed like flapping wings does.

    Yeah, totally agree. We need to add spammable poison whip or make stone giant casting faster than now. Zos, please, hear us!
