Battlegrounds Picks Chaos ball/ Capture the relic way too often

I thought the battlegrounds queue was supposed to be Random, so why are 90% of the battlegrounds I get ChaosBall and Capture the Relic? The flag games and death match are so rare in the queue it's like a miracle they show up at all.

Capture the relic is probably the worst battleground mode there is and it's the one that tends to be given to us the most.

Please ease up on the obsessive amounts of running games and let us actually have some good times with death match or king of the hill. It seriously makes me not want to play more BG's because I'm sick of the nonstop ChaosBall and Capture relic

I wonder what it depends on. Literally 80% of my BGs are Crazy King, been that way all event.

That said, I actually love the Relic idea, but I feel it's a lot harder for mag builds whose main moving tools get disabled by picking up relic (streak, mist form, etc), whereas stam keeps its op sprinting speed, endless dodgerolls etc.

This might not be accurate, since I’m not a developer and don’t know for sure, but I think the matching system tends to prefer to put you in a mode the more successful you are at one.

This was evident to me during MyM when I did a lot of BGs. I was on 1st spot on land grab leaderboard, and after a while all I would get matched up was land grab. So perhaps the MMR takes that into consideration.

I almost never get chaosball as I usually score low there (unless I happen to grab a ball) and almost never death match, as my build was built around running fast around not killing people.

Mid last week, I changed my build to tank and use harbinger, and got quite a few kills in few death matches, and after few days death match would pop up more and more often. Which is why it makes me think, the better you score, the higher the chance that’s the mode you’ll get 🤷‍♂️

As long as we have additional solo queue we can't chose modes.

The inability to choose what type of battleground you get is almost as bad as when we could only queue alone.

Chaos ball was under selected for me this event and is one of my favs so yeah, no.

I feel like on different days the proportion of matches is different. A few days ago it was all chaos ball/relic for me, but yesterday I did death match 5 times in a row.

I did one Battleground every day for the event and got Chaosball everytime except for two matches (one Deathmatch and one Crazy King). So yeah, I think Chaosball might have a slightly higher rate than the others...

During this event I've had a number of (unwanted) death matches, about the same number of capture the flag games, and maybe 2 chaos ball ... theres no significance to the variations in occurrence of the various types of games imo.

Contrary to the OP, I get a lot of flag games (Crazy King and Domination). It is RNG anyways. A streak of the same game mode is not strange to happen when there are only a few options, to begin with.

Capture the Relic sux.
I get it 80% of the time, and it has gotten me to the point that I log off if that's what I get (something I would never do a year ago in any situation) or I avoid Battlegrounds altogether.
When you could choose, I'd spend hours in there, daily.
Battlemaster Rivyn has turned into sadistic power drunk arsehole.
