Becoming a Vampire again after being cured?

I paid the 1500 crowns and got the Vampire skill. I had lots of crowns, it was something different and new to me to do. Don't be a hater because I bought the skill.

I played it and I leveled it all the way to level 10. I found that I consume too much resource because of the normal resource cost penalty, the skills are lack luster, and I dont feel that they do much damage, evan after being CP600+ and having good gear. I am overall disappointed in the Vampire skill line. The negative aspects of the stages FAR outweigh the benefits of having the skill line.

So I want to cure myself and I already figured out how to do it. You go to a priest at the Mages Guild in the last zone of your alliance, pay a little gold, and you are cured, and the skill tree is in-accessible. The skill points you put into the skill tree are automatically removed and refunded back for you to use somewhere else.

But here is my question: So later on, if I decide I want to become a Vampire again, are my choices for going back to being a Vampire still the same as becoming a Vampire in the fist place?

Can I drink a Corrupting Bloody Mara drink and become a Vampire again? If not, how come this has been overlooked as a way to get back what you already earned?

I can't find another answer anywhere, so is my understanding correct that after already having the skill line and leveling it to 10, and cured myself, to get the skill line back, I must either:

A. Get a bite from another player at the alter in the zone specific area.

B. Get hit by a Bloodfiend during the night at a low moon. Exactly how do you know when the low moon is about?

C. Pay another 1500 crowns in the crown store to open up the skill line back up?

Is this correct?

Yes, all three are correct. And your skill line will still be level 10 as it was before you got cured.

Edited to add: If you go to the zones when it's night in game you can check some spots and see if there are bloodfiends or werewolves that night. It's always one or the other.

You can also ask in zone for a bite. You can usually find one. Or ask your guilds.

You can become a vampire again and the skill line will be level 10. Skills in the line will not be unlocked, so you'll have to unlock them and morph them again. The experience you gained on these skills will have been saved too, so say if you ranked up blood for blood, the exp will be gained when you unlock it again, but not for the other morph that you didn't rank up.

Yes, all three methods are valid. Also note that many players will bite you for free (although vampires tend to charge more often than werewolves, lol).

Most decent guilds including trading guild will not charge. Its kind of an stigma of charging for bites after trolling after launch so custom is to do it for free.
Note that crafted gear take more time and its an risk of messing up like forgetting setting trait who cost the crafter.

Offer to pay on the other hand is also polite.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

never pay for the vamp skill line friend. PLS just ask for a bite in zone chat.

Also, you don't get to do the related quest, and get to experience the story if you "buy" the bit from the crown store.

i'd expect a tip for a bite... something nominal (500g)... time is money.

OP you are correct on all points! I personally think the crown store bite is a rip off, especially at the price its at considering how cheap it is to acquire in the game. It and the cure didn't always exist either as they were added when ZOS realized they could monetize them. Feel really bad for people who used crowns on such a purchase when people like me give such things away for free :(

Just go roam around Bangkorai; Reaper’s March; or The Rift... natural bite WWs & Bloodfiends appear roughly once a week. All of my characters are the start of their own “bloodlines.”

Taking money for bites is seriously frowned on in the community. The reasoning has more to do with history than the current state. Specifically, we used to have people who would kill the random infection spawns then charge extortionate rates for bites. Six years later, and people still look dimly on paying for bites.

That's a very high opinion over something that you can still get 'free' (except from people demanding 15k for a bite)

It's not always that easy though. It took me about 3 weeks to find infectious bloodfiends in Reaper's March, checking whenever I could get online. They might well have been spawning more often (I saw werewolves at the spawn points 4 times before seeing bloodfiends) but an in-game day is roughly 6 hours long so unless you can be online at any time of the day or night in real life you're going to miss a lot of in-game nights and if those are the ones where bloodfiends (or WW if you want those) spawn then...oh well, you're out of luck.

Personally, between the hassle I had finding them, the fact that it only adds 1 step to the quest and you have to go to the same map as the shrine to do that step anyway (and it has to be the one for your alliance) I don't think I'd bother doing it again. My first time - getting a bite from another player - was actually more immersive because they lead me to the shrine while making lots of suitably creepy comments about "joining the family" and "awakening to your true potential" and waited outside to welcome me after I'd done the quest.

Used to be, the Sanguine's Goat's eyes would glow when the vampires or werewolves would be coming up. Though, this seems to have been broken by the Witches' Festival last year.

Yes, correct. If you left the skill points in the vamp tree (as I did) you get refunded those skill points when you become a vamp again, and must re-spend them, but your skill levels remain the same as before so you just slot them straight in. Get a bite from another player, just ask in guild or zone chat and hopefully find a friendly sire to chomp on you.

I'm not. I deeply dislike that ZOS sells the bites in the store. Not because I don't think you deserve it, but because, for what you get, it's a raw deal, and one of the only things I can point at as really predatory in the Crown Store.

If the crown store bites (and cure) were account unlocks that you could apply whenever, I'd be all for them, but as they are, it's a really disappointing piece of monetization.

The goat was broken even before the Witches Festival (at least before the 2020 one). ZOS forced the eyes to glow for the duration of that event, and now it's back to broken again.

I remember because I'd filed a bug report the week before the festival after going ages without seeing the goat's eyes glow. (There were also reports here on the forums, sometimes conflated with reports about the Daemon Cockerel's eyes not glowing -- the rooster was fixed, but not the goat.) By the time ZOS replied asking me for a screenshot, the goat's eyes were red all the time because of the event. I managed to get a screenshot next to some werewolf spawns in Reaper's March with the goat's eyes not glowing.
