When a DK leaps you, it holds you in place while the dk is moving towards you. Super annoying.

This was changed around the time of the speed meta IIRC. At the time, people were building enough speed that they could be out of range of gapclosers by the time the caster got to where you were when the ability was cast. This applies to leap too.
All gapclosers apply an unpurgeable snare on the target until the action completes.
Pretty annoying for the DK, leap being an undodgeable ult that anyone with speed could simply walk away from.
Idk man it closes the gap, its not supposed to keep it closed for all eternity. Instead of it being some straight line make it be 3d or whatever so it still goes to the target wherever they goWhen a DK leaps you, it holds you in place while the dk is moving towards you. Super annoying.

I'm glad they fixed this, would be pointless to even slot otherwise.

How so? It should still takes you to the target (wherever they are) do damage and stun them if they arent cc immune. No snare required. If someones super duper fast it doesnt matter cause it still takes them to the target

Time to flex my art skills
Its not undodgeable without the snare, it would still hit, correct?

Because of the issue already mentioned. You used to be able to stack speed and just avoid where the DK lands altogether. Makes leap kind of useless in PVP. You ult dump on someone just to "not" get where they are, and do no damage.

Yeah, but, you know, spaghetti code. That's why they implemented the target snare.
TBH I only really notice the snare when I'm on the receiving end of max-range leaps. They also recently increased the travel time of leap, so that may contribute to why you're noticing now.
If you notice the snare, try to block. Big boy's on his way.
