What is the purpose of dividing champion point "Ironclad" and " Expert Defender"?

The "Midyear Mayhem event" put me in the Cyrodiil area. I chose " standard rule (including CP)",
and travel to the Wayshrine of my alliance base. This is my first attempting of PVP war combat.
Just I bought "Barista" and "Stone-thrower" at the merchant of my base, and go to the battle area.

And I engaged another disgusting disaster of ESO....The game balance is completely broken.
Someone couldn't survive much longer. So, I checked fallen player's level amount. It's a "CP-810"!!
What !? I was CP-290. How can I deal with those crazy combat situation by only CP-290?
Or some player has almost "cheat level" damage amount, and kill other players almost instantly by solo.

This is not game anymore. It's a stupid "time wasting".

I became ElderScrolls fan because of playing "Skyrim" experience.
And these disaster makes newbies hater of PVP. Especially, players who want to enjoy same experience
like Skyrim or Oblivion adventure. I don't need Midyear Mayhem type of event anymore. It's a nonsense.
I'm not interested in double experience point for PVP. Because, I understood that PVP of ESO is nonsense
content.

Maybe, ZOS wanted to pull attention of PVE fan players by some event. But it didn't work.

What is the purpose of dividing champion point "Ironclad" and " Expert Defender"?
-> I can't accept game concept of these things.

<CP Steed _ Ironclad>
-> reduce damage taken from NPC enemy

<CP Lord _ Expert Defender>
-> reduce damage taken from PVP players

Am I right? or Wrong? I piled enough amount of "Ironclad" to survive in the PVE area.
But it didn't work in PVP. I think it's completely unfair. The ”enemy” means threat to try to kill you.
There're no reason to make different defensing power enemy NPC or players.

Why did ZOS built this "strange" game mechanics at the CP?
I wonder that ZOS want to divide PVE based players and PVP hardcore to avoid marketing friction.

My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]
with [1Stam Blade].
But, I'm Tank main player. Recently I'm doing Healer.

you are new to PVP, and you are confused. But it is not that different from PVE.

In PVE, you have "glass cannons". E.g. sorcerer or magplar, light armor, magicka glyphs.
I run such a templar, just 11k health.

I do massive damage, but when a boss runs a heavy blast like the dwarven colossus in the reach, I'm instantly dead. Even if I use corrupting bloody mara for health, it is just not enough.
But this build still rocks in many situations, because I can really burn down harrowstorm witchpikes quickly. If I die - who cares, I have hundrets of soulgems to revive.

In PVP, you have similar builds, and far more often.
They focus on extremely high burst damage.
A sequence of 3 or 4 skills, the last the execute from 2hand skills. This can kill many players almost instantly. The drawback: they are just as squishy as my templar.
So cp810 does not mean that you are automatically in "godmode" compared to cp290 players.
If you decide for such a build, but fail to execute the enemy player instantly, you lose. It is your own choice to build more tanky .

Your are also new. Remember that the game has been out for years. There are people that have been pvping since beta so you obviously wont hold your own. Pvp is much better starting out when in a group

Maybe....ZOS will do it. But I'm really busy man. I don't have much time to spend for unfair PVP.
And I didn't expect such type of aspect for this game. Why? Because it's a one of Elder Scrolls series.

If I really want to play PVP combat game, I'll choose "Call of Duty" Instead of it.

Coffee? That's not enough. I need Skooma to deceive my sanity for enjoying such a bad content.

Just play NO CP campaign if you don't want to be easily defeated by much higher cp players.

Note: It is even more unbalanced gameplay compared to CP enabled(from max CP player perspective).
But for low CP player it is best to go NO CP first.
    Best of luck :)

I'm sorry, but just because you couldn't immediately succeed at something doesn't actually mean it's broken. You don't even need to be optimised for PvP to be able to play it successfully. Yes it's frustrating to be quickly taken down but it just means the other person knows what they're doing vs you, a self-confessed noob. CP helps, but you can still be entirely competent when you learn what to do at 290CP

I'm not even particularly accomplished at PvP and I've been into CP Cyro a few times on my lvl 25 nightblade scrub (gotta get them transmute geodes). I mightn't necessarily be able kill anyone but I can be a SUPER annoying little blowfly hassling enemy players and surviving it while others get the job done. :D

But right off the bat trying to 1v1 another player when you're brand new to the place? Yikes.

Thanks for replay, but I knew it. Just I want to play PVP in "pure fair" situation.
Same degree combat power but different tactics and ability. That's the most important.

But actually say, story based campaign quest is far more worthful ESO experience for me.

I took tons of picture of buildings of Elsweyr. That elaborated curving of Pillar and statue
is very wonderful graphic work. And lot of nice NPC conversation. Great adventure.
None of those things in Cyrodiil. I can't accept poor environment looking Cyrodiil. Boring repeatable
level design everywhereat the battle field.

If I'm not busy man, I have spare of time for playing those things.
But I want to concentrate story quest mainly. If ZOS keep pushing ESO style PVP, I'll quit this game.

I certainly agree that CP-enabled pvp is unfair to new players and unbalanced even to experienced ones - which is why there are BGs and the No-CP campaign. Just be warned, it's just as deadly of a place in there if not moreso.

ZoS barely touches PvP. Much less 'pushes' it. So don't worry there. There's almost nothing in the game for PvP (which is sad because it was supposed to be the main selling point of the game originally).

As for the bland graphics in Cyrodiil: you have to consider that this was one of the first places developed probably back around 2010-2012. They were designing for the constraints of hardware and the engine at the time with large scale battles in mind.

I understand that. Because I'm game graphic designer.
And I have experience PVP game map design also.

But I want little bit something "sweet" decoration for visual immersion
and interesting level design for fortress battle field.

It's too much open field, nothing cover place from projectile, and looks so much empty.

You cant expect to go in there, new to PvP, and kill people who have been playing for years. Start with a somewhat tanky build so you have time to learn and as you get more experienced move to more and more damage.

Just like in PvE movement is important stay close to rocks and trees so you can hide behind them to heal team up with some others for starters and get a PvP build from somewhere.

If you dont want to bother you can just do the scout quest, ride over, sneak and finish it,
die to something to get back to base instantly within one loading screen.

This has always struck me as totally broken. For battlegrounds and no CP campaigns it doesn't matter though, and the new CP system will hopefully at some point address that nonsense.

PvP is a different set of play skills to learn and also differs in that unlike overland CP isn't everything. So whilst you can take a CP 600 level 20 character into a normal non DLC dungeon and tank it in your underwear, shield and dagger the same simply isn't true in PvP. Your CP will help in a CP campaign but they are not a substitute for knowing what to do and how to avoid skilful enemy players basically one-shotting you. Consider them akin to a PvE mechanic - you have to learn it just like you have to learn to dodge the bear on veteran selene's

Too many toons not enough time
