I already use a light-weight loot monitor to see what others get, but I'm going to switch to yours since it makes linking my own gear for others to see so easy.

Now if there's anything you can create to make overly possessive and rude players chill out a bit, that would be great. Already a few of them in this thread, acting like asking if they don't need some of their loot is akin to insulting their mother. I once offered a guy 50k gold for a weapon that dropped for him, and he demanded 200k instead. I told him I didn't have that much and he replied "sucks to be you then. I'll just vendor it." And I just couldn't even begin to comprehend how someone's moral compass can function like that.

I never understood another person's desire for someone else's property. regardless of what the owner does with their property, it is the owners, period. Why do so many people feel they somehow have a claim to it if they just need enough or offer enough of what they deem appropriate.

It is the owner's value of the gear, not the person who wants it that matters. I see greed from the other end. Those who want what others have is the real greed and envy.

Hmm.. did you just solo that dungeon or trial or did you have 3-11 others all helping get the loot? Why is it considered your's when everyone worked together for it, just because it randomly ended up in your inventory instead of the poor guys who have been farming that place for it 30 times over?

Desire for property? Damn man, it's a random loot item you either want or don't want. If I see someone get an item I'm after, then at the end of the dungeon I send them a polite PM saying something along the lines of "Hey! If you don't need that [loot] could I buy it off you for 50k please? =)" and all but once everyone has been friendly, happy to make some gold, or insist I have it for free. There was one time when someone replied that he would sell it to me for 200k gold (I guess he saw the opportunity to exploit me) and when I said I didn't have that much but could still pay 50k he replied "Sucks to be you. I'll just vendor it then." - For all of... what? 40 gold? He chose to miss out on 50k gold just so he could have the pleasure of being a ***. How is that greed and envy on my end, rather than an attitude problem on the other end? I'm not suggesting it should be my loot - I'm using group loot adds to offer people gold for a trade if they don't need the loot themselves.

In pretty much every other MMO group loot history is just a normal part of the game to help with group loot sharing.

This is literally how mmos were designed to be played. They want to foster community by giving players items to share with one another. You may have something someone needs, and they may have something you need. If you help one another you can succeed faster than you would alone. It's really not complicated.

I find it kind of greedy and self-centered to go into a game that's built on sharing, refuse to share, and then call others names for wanting to share in a game designed around sharing. But to each his own, I suppose.

But... Their name is literally written on the dropped piece...it is not exclusively yours, it is co-yours with all group members, with you having a priority on it.

Not sharing groups labor if you don't need it is real petty.

PS: it is amazing how the brigade of "I will never let you have my loot" is coming to a thread advertising an add-on that shares your loot

It's his because it landed in his inventory. What makes you believe you have claim to it.

Well there's such a thing as being nice. It is not anyone's duty to share their loot with anyone, even if they're just going to vendor it and the person asking desperately needs it for his raid group and has been farming for it for months. They're fully in their right to refuse it and vendor the item they got. It also isn't anyone's duty to carry a subpar group through a dungeon, even if it's their first time there and they really want to learn, but simply don't know the mechanics yet. More experienced people are fully in their right to just kick less experienced ones/drop and not waste their time trying to teach the newcomers. It also isn't anyone's duty to help someone out with a random WB, or a port, or a WW/vamp bite, or just a question they ask in zonechat. We're all fully in our right to simply ignore all of those and go on about our merry day.

The question is, does this really make for a healthier and more enjoyable community?

Something like this should seriously be a base game option......

Options > Gameplay > Automatically link set item drops (unless Not Collected in Sticker Book)

@code65536 Lol... Sorry for the typos. I was playing the game and though how awesome that feature was and that I should write a post... then I had 6 beers between the thought and actually writing it.

Anyway, people have made awesome arguments already about how this part of the addon is great.

Loot logging is a completely different issue.

I completed more pieces of my Sticker Book in a few days than in weeks after discovering this. Still recommend.
