Any Race, Any Alliance problem?

So what is this bulls*** with the Any Race, Any Alliance only being available in the bundle now? I literally have everything else in the bundle before the bundle existed, so I'd literally be rebuying a bunch of stuff I already have. Even with the bundle discount, that's still insanely expensive.
From what I understand, those items will just be "destroyed" or "lost to the void" or whatever euphemism you want to use, right? I won't be able to gift them to a friend and I wont' get a further discount on the bundle, they won't turn into gemstones (or will they? If they did turn into gems commiserate to their value that would be acceptable?)
