It is my general observation that there is a great gap between players who are okay with buying crafting upgrade materials and those who take advantage of the market demand and set these prices quite high. My recommendation to ESO is that we could combine (at a substantial material cost) different upgrade materials for all crafting professions into greater ones and convert lower level crafting items into higher level ones by combining them. Allowing crafters to clear their inventory of not so useful materials and players ability to have more options in finding critical materials without allowing the market to massively monopolize this. Keep in mind that players that maximize their crafting skills will be able to maximize this effect. In addition, this would cause the individual prices to drop, but there would be more sell volume, since dedicated crafters will still have an advantage using this system. I find this solution favorable for everyone.
Proposal (Baseline):
Level 1- CP 150 Items:
10 to 1 ratio for materials (Like Iron and Maple) (5 to 1 ratio for a level 50 crafting line)
Non-Jewelry or Enchanting Upgrade Materials:
Green to Blue (8 Green) (4 Green for Max Crafting Line)
Blue to Purple (16 Blue) (8 Blue for Max Crafting Line)
Purple to Gold (32 Purple) (16 for Max Crafting Line)
Jewelry and Enchanting Upgrade Materials:
Green to Blue (3 Green) (2 Green for Max Crafting Line)
Blue to Purple (6 Blue) (3 Blue for Max Crafting Line)
Purple to Gold (12 Purple) (6 Purple for Max Crafting Line)
