Hi! How hard are templars nerfed in pts? Seems pretty significant, no?

    Aedric Spear
    Burning Light: This passive now has a 3 second window between each stack, rather than a 1.1 second window, to reduce the cadence in which you must consistently attack with an Aedric Spear ability.

    Dawn’s Wrath
    Solar Flare:
    Reduced the cast time of this ability and the Dark Flare morph to 0.8 seconds, down from 1 second.
    Reduced the damage done by approximately 21%.
    Reduced the cost of all versions of this ability to 2700, down from 2970.

    Similar to other cast time abilities, we’ve taken the approach for a quicker cast time to help make this ability easier to weave within the 1 second global cooldown. This should also help reduce burst, potentially when combined with other high hitting attacks, but help the DPS go up by making it smoother to use and easier to sustain.

    Restoring Light

    Light Weaver: Fixed an issue where this passive did not properly grant its stated Armor when you were channeling Rite of Passage or its morphs.


    where do you see the significant nerf in this patchnotes?

    one could argue they "buffed" templars with the burning light passives and making solar flare a better spammable

    but one could also argue that they did absolutly nothing to adress the dire state templars are in at the moment.

    I thought burning light was a nerf. I wasn't sure how to understand the writeup

    Still nerfed 21% damage reduction class is gutted best thing for it is to just replace it.

    Burning light is not a nerf, previously for the burning light proc attacks needed to within 1.1 secs of the next one, now they can be within 3 secs, it does not effect jabs but now you can get a proc if you javelin ppl once every 3 secs, kinda useless but not a nerf.

    As for dark flare it is neither a buff nor a nerf, no one really used it in pve as a spammaple (the other morph was used as a dot and is unaffected afaik) and in pvp it was used for some ranged builds esp. for the debuff, lower cast time lower dmg helps ppl who only used it for the debuff and hurts those who based their build around it.

    Solar Flare will be a slight sustain buff if using Solar Barrage as most are from what I see. Not sure how Dark Flare will balance out between lower damage and faster weaving.

    Still no fix to buggy Puncturing Sweeps animations and weaving though.

    At the moment difficult to tell on PTS how relatively minor changes leave Templar (stam or mag) relative to other classes but I'm sure parses will start appearing next week or whenever they fix the dummy pen issue.

    More disappointed at lack of fixes here.

    If I learned anything from games it's that faster cast speed or faster attack speed is more damage.

    Why? The more attacks or casts you can get in, the more damage you output at a faster rate.

    I read this as a buff.

    Dark flare is still useless (a bit worse for pvp now)
    Dps is still the lowest between another classes

    Nothing special as you can see

    Currently takes about 1.2s - 1.3s to use Dark Flare and LA consistently. If we assume that goes down to 1s, we end up able to use 5 Dark Flare + LA in place of 4 as it is currently. Damage done by the ability itself will be almost identical (5 x 81% = 405%) but we may get 1 extra LA in there. The down side will be sustain as we are now getting 5 x 2,700 = 13,500 base Mag cost vs. 4 x 2,970 = 11,880 bas Mag cost.
