A basic question about combat

Hello! I have a question about weapon swapping. For example if I use a delayed aoe skill for example inhale on dk with a lightning staff on the back bar, do that extra aoe damage from lightning staff continue to count when I switch to s&b? or do the damage count as s&b when it goes off?

Skills dropped/used on your back bar should carry over to your front bar. Unstable Wall of Elements is a perfect example. Passives on your back bar from skills (i.e. if you have Inner Light on your back bar but not your front) will NOT carry over to your front bar. Similarly, passives from armor sets not on both bars will not carry over, either, for example the spell penetration buff on a Perfected VMA staff will only work while that bar/staff is equipped and will not carry over to the front bar.

In general damage calculation is dynamic, i.e. it is recalculated based on your active stats/bar. Wish the game were clearer about this though.
