What is wrong with the quest markers?

All the time I follow a quest marker to the other side of the map only to find when I get there that the quest marker has shifted back to where I started from. It's not just now and again it does this on a regular basis.
Also when I click on a quest in my journal most of the time there is no quest marker on my map.
Is it broken or is there something I am missing. I know it's a pain in the bum.

✭Platform? Some quest markers are permanently borked though. CWC and Wrothgar are particularly affected but you can find quests like that all over.0 -
Misty✭✭✭I'm playing on a PC. It happens enough to be annoying. I now move by small distances re checking my map to make sure the quest marker isn't going to move. There was one time I ended up in the wrong continent. The quest marker had taken me from area to another area and back again. I literally got lost.0

rnklippel✭✭✭Yeah, many times when a quest requests you to travel to another map, the quest marker will point you to the ships that travel across tamriel. For example, if you are in Auridon and has a quest in Reaper's March, it will point to the boat that travels to Grahtwood, then to Greenshade, then Malabal Tor and then Reaper's March. But you can just ignore all this and just take a way shrine to Reaper's March.
Also, the marker acts a bit strangely when you have quests inside cities that don't have doors, like Davon's Watch in Stonefalls. Or the ones in Tideholm (Southern Elsweyr), that again points to the boat, but you can just take the wayshrine to Senchal, instead of landing on the pier and have a long walk ahead until the central area of the city.
So my advice is: always read the description of the quest to see if you can go directly to the location you're supposed to go.0 -
Misty✭✭✭Just now I had a quest were I talk to 3 people who give me 3 quests. I come out of the building and no quest markers. I made sure it was active. I did get one pop up on a boat that has sod all to do with my quest. It's as if the game has shares in sea travel.
I notice it's a hell of a lot worse in town and city's . In those places the quest markers balloon all over the place.1
