With new npc companions this game will be fully single player game with optional co-op functions.

Time to give full offline mode it will fix many people problems, with lags, bugs and etc.

    But what is online here? Is more co-op. If you go to dungeon or battlegound game can switch to online mode.
    Rest - online mode is not needed. You just run and doing simple quests, you don't need other people for that. ESO is great game to have offline option.
    And npc companions? You can do dung offline with them. No need in ESO stay online.

    There was an MMORPG i used to play; you could literally disable "seeing other players" in options and play it like there is no one around, all alone.

    That was some good stuff. I wouldn't want to see some demigod riding their " super ultra rare sovngarde psijic dark senche raht of scuttle void from quagmire of akaviri dragonguard" through the blacksmithing station while i'm trying to aim the damn orc merchant there

    Also, MMOs dont' work like that. Too much of the game engine/behavior/mechanics/etc is on the servers, not in your PC. You can't just flip an easy switch and make it "offline".


    (and I say all this as a solo player. Not going to happen, never going to happen, not necessary to happen, etc)

    Nope, it will not be single player with optional coop functions. It will be online game with combat pets.
    Single player mode games - Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.....Arena and Redgiuard are to old, Daggerfall can still be fun from time to time.
    Let's be extremely precise in our use of terms.

    Problem with Daggerfall is it's all first person.... makes my vertigo unhappy!

    This is an MMO, so there's a client-side and a server-side aspect to it. Things like your saved character information and your "save files" are all handled server-side. After some public cheating incidents in PVP, ZOS changed a lot of combat and character aspects over to server-side rather than client-side.

    When you ask for an offline game, you are asking for ZOS to rewrite and recode the game to be 100% client-side.
