Stadia use of VPN? ESO constant disconnects

Captain_Phasma
You mentioned in a post in September concerning ESO constant disconnects, which I am having a real bad problem with right now, that you made use of a VPN to resolve your issues. I also read about this in another venue but now I'm wanting to look into it after being sick of ESOs disconnects due to their ping rate.

Since thadia is through a separate device and all VPN options I know of ours via software on a computer so how would you do it for your Chromecast?

Thank you for any insight that you may be able to provide be much appreciated and also what VPN were you utilizing and have you been satisfied with them?

Thank you much,
Adam

Have you tried to configure your router with different ports specifically for ESO? Many ISP do bandwidth throttling with online games, or you can prioritize those ports via router's options. They shouldn't but it can happen (it was my case)

Before subscribing to a VPN, try the following (empty net cache and history by resetting the network, assign ports etc.)

1st Steps (optional): verify if there are potential spyware or virus via a CMD window in administrative mode
    • netstat -a (it should not show more than 50-7- lines)
    • netstat -b (shouldn't show any lines except for localhosts)
2nd step: reset the network connection via a CMD window in administrative mode
    • netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
      >> restart the PC
    • netsh winsock reset catalog
      >> restart the PC
    • ipconfig /flushdns
Test the connection via a CMD window in administrative mode
    • ping -n 100 www.google.com
      >> there should be less than 3% errors
If everything is fine, then configure your router's ports for ESO (via your router's Web UI settings):
    • TCP / UDP Ports 24100 to 24131
    • TCP / UDP Ports 24500 to 24507
    • TCP / UDP Ports 24300 to 24331
    • TCP Port 80
    • TCP Port 433
Then test ping for access to ESO servers: they should not be over 400 to 500 (via a CMD window).
    • NA Servers:
      ping 198.20.198.110
    • EU Servers:
      ping 195.122.154.1
If the problem persists... Occasionally high latency problems may occur with some ISPs. This results in large ping jumps (over 500 ping) and prevents you from playing normally. The game becomes very slow and you may be disconnected. Contact your ISP's technical support and ask them to test your access to ESO (by providing the IP addresses as mentioned above in the ping test).

If all of this fails... Then maybe that a VPN route would solve this, but I doubt unless your ISP is truly doing bandwidth throttling (which should be illegal, but who knows really).

BTW, if all fails as mentioned in the previous post, you could also try accessing via other public DNS servers rather than your ISP's (via your router's Web UI settings):
    dns1: 8.8.8.8
    dns2: 8.8.4.4
