Medium armor needs a buff.

Before people start saying no because medium has no negatives as opposed to light and heavy. Remember that now if you use 7 medium you are getting 1%less damage than we had running 5pieces during live. If you wish to use even 1 piece of light or heavy your sacrificing a ton of damage. The new champion perks are greatly reducing damage us players are able to do. Cp penetration dropped to less than 2000 as ap posed to 4500-5000penetration. The base 15%damage mitigation is also further lowering damage from players. We are about to move into heavy tank meta where sword and board bar will make a player virtually unkillable while still able to achieve 3-4kweapon damage. If medium armor builds are getting less and less damage we won’t be able to compete against heavy builds even in the dps aspect. Also crit damage has been nerfed for medium builds but light is buffed. Melee crit builds can’t compete against magical crit builds anymore.

Overland is too easy! Companions are going to make it even more trivial! But please don't lower my damage by a whole 1%!

Medium armour is still the weapon damage king, and unlike the other two weights it has no downsides. It's a good middle-ground, as medium armour should be.

If you choose to only run 5 medium you only get a 10% damage buff you actually loose 5% compared to live. That’s a large chunk of dps loss. And that’s not even counting how much dps we are loosing in the cp tree. The should change the medium passive from 2% to 3% this gives the base 15% at 5 pieces and an extra 6%if you choose to run 7 medium. Medium is the only one that gets no real benefit of running 7 pieces. As opposed to light getting a ton of extra def and attack. And heavy getting a ton more survivability.

What about the idea that, from patch to patch, the balance between Heavy and Medium has swayed not due to the armor passives themselves, which have barely changed in years, but other changes which indirectly benefit one armor over another.

From my view, several things which elevated Medium over Heavy for most of 2019: buff to Vigor, nerf to Forward Momentum, NMA at 480 weapon damage, and Potentate's 2 piece at 5% mitigation. Several things which have elevated Heavy over Medium for most of 2020: Malacath, buffed procs, Trainee 1 piece, and giving Balorgh penetration (which took away more healing power from Medium builds using Balorgh than it did Heavy, with no loss of DPS in either Armor). Sure you could take away the Health buff from Heavy, or you could make Health the 3rd line on Trainee rather than the 1st. Not that 1 piece Trainee is driving the imbalance, but you get my point.

Since we only have 3 choices of Armor, but hundreds of choices of sets, skills, foods, etc., if possible it would be preferable to address imbalances through means besides adjusting the armor passives themselves.

For instance, take StamCro: if Detonating Syphon were made into something better, that would make Death Knell a little more attractive, which would make Malacath less attractive, which might elevate Medium over Heavy for more StamCros.

I'm for it - give medium armor its damage back and provide the free integrated sturdy trait of medium armor to heavy armor instead where it makes sense.
