1. Male Breton, the Unsure Undaunted. He joined up with the Undaunted because his sister did, constantly second guesses his actions.
2. Male Wood Elf, always drunk on bug wine. His attacks miss 25% of the time, but has a higher than average chance to land a critical.
3. Female Khajiit that is really uptight. Often scolds you for being reckless and is fidgety about everything around her.
4. Female Argonian, mistakes you for her servant. Believes she rescued YOU, and now you're indebted to her for life.

    Your #4 sounds fun. :)

I miss Lydia. She carried my burdens, ate my sweet rolls, stood on all the traps, and blocked the doorway like a true companion.

Easy. Alfiq mage. Perhaps a spy or mercenary?

Or, one of those back-flippy monks from Southern Elsweyr.

    Also, were-crocodile.

Love your ideas, too lol. Especially #4.

    • I think a lot of the requests for companions stems from players wanting fan favorite recurring characters as followers so the next batch of companions should be characters like Raz, Naryu, Gwendis, Adusa-Daro, Kireth, Raynor, Quen and others.
    • I really hope these characters have a lot of lines and at least a couple of quests associated with them. It sounds like that's what ZOS wants to do and I just hope the releases are of a high quality as opposed to quick crown store cash grabs.

I suppose small gear storage like enough to store my healer gear swaps or at least 2 full sets so 14 slots of extra storage.

Valaste from mages guild quest line I saved her. Elfbetta the Shy from morrowind narcissism dren quest. Xukas is great as well. Rigurt as a houseguest since he is too busy to adventure with diplomacy.

Original ideas a female Argonian shadowscale, a female telvaani mage, and a wild idea but dude imprissoned in a clockwork body forced to serve you.

Provided they get the AI right and the basic animations down for both male and female models, I don't see why they can't add a large selection of companions later on, since we will only be able to use 1 at a time.

I just hope they prove useful, looking forward to when they show more info on exactly how they will work.

Would be really nice if they add an option for us to create are own companion but am not expecting that level of customization, at the very least I hope we can use the outfit system/costumes on them and that they can make use of in game gear, instead of working like the wardens bear and sorc's combat pets.

Something along the lines of the way SWTOR's companions use to work with being able to outfit them with gear, is what I am hoping for but retaining the role selection they introduced later on.

I hope they give them good stories. Skyrim's companioins were all pretty generic for the most part ("You picked some lettuce for me? Of course I'll follow you to certain death, my new bff!"), so I liked that they really developed them by the time they got to Fallout 4. Hope that the new companions are along those lines, and I'd eventually like to see a few different characters each with their own personalities.

Also hope we can take them into an outfit station and play some fashion scrolls with them so not everyone's looks the same.

I am intrigued. I don't particularly need it, but it would be nice to have some extra DPS when I'm soloing on my tank build. And I'd love to be able to have someone else stand on the plate in Direfrost/pull the lever in ICP so I can solo those dungeons.

But the most important thing I want? Release the hairstyle on the dude in the promo art! How much do we have to beg for Short Mussed Wave before you release it?!

None of them. Number 4 would be totally no. The only companion I'd wish to have there would be a slave, preferably a former Covenant or Dominion subject, who would be carrying baggage and doing some household things at my Tel Galen lands in Vvardenfell or at my Ebonheart chateau. Yes, we do have the ones already called "hirelings", though the real Hirelings can refuse the task and demand payment, but those ones I mentioned act like slaves - "Hirelings occupy the lowest rung on the ladder, aside from slaves of course. But we can earn a wage and study in peace. We can even refuse a task, if we wish". Nonetheless, a baggage-slave who would also fight for his master would be quite well.

Oh, yes, the reasoning!.. I've been playing a Dunmer in TES games for decades, I'm a Redoran in 3E 427 (TES 3), but ESO does not give an option to join this Great House in 2E 582. So, today, in 2E 582, I became a noble of House Dres having performed two things:
      1. I completed the Vengeance for House Dres quest and thus was named a Hand of Dres, their friend and ally, by the Grandmaster himself in his dialogue lines - "I now name you the Hand of Dres and offer you my aid, should you need it in the future. To their friends, the Dres are generous" and "Well done, my ally. Always remember you have the ear of this Dres grandmaster, should you need it".
      2. And, secondly, I bought the Ebonheart Chateau, and thus I was granted the rank and the title of Councilor - a House Dres councilor, since the manor is located in the Dres lands close to the city of Ebonheart governed by Great House Dres. So, I am a member of the Council of Great House Dres. In 3E 427 the rank of Councilman of both the House Redoran Ranks and House Hlaalu Ranks (unlike the House Telvanni Ranks - those are a bit different) will be the 9th, one of the highest ranks of the 10 existing, it will be second only to the Grandmaster. There are no statements that this system has ever been changed. And the Dres do have the same system, as we see it in the game. So, I'm equal to other Dres councilors and second only to Grandmaster Omin.

And since, generally, even the 3rd lowest rank of Oathman out of the 10 grants it's bearer the right purchase slaves, I guess a Councilor of House Dres should be able to exercise this right for sure - this is something that should be implemented into the game. I say nothing of that Covenant and Dominion custom of their male n'wahs to wear female dresses, so I think they should say nothing regarding our Dunmeri ancient tradition of owning slaves. I also hope the prices on these slaves should not be equal with the prices of manors, otherwise it should be a really obedient and useful slave.

As long as they have decent dialogue, and a diverse range of Race and Role I'll take anything and everything.

But then, don't limit it to just the common Mortal Races either.

      Give us a Dremora/Xivkyn/Spiderkith/Shrike/etc. Companion.
      Give us a Pahmar/Pahmar-Raht Companion.
Give us a Factotum/Dwarven Architon Companion.
      Give us a Maormer Companion.
Give us an Ayleid Ghost Companion.

Basically as long as they can hold a weapon and could (technically) wear armor like a player character, there's no reason not to let them be a Companion.

Don't limit it to simple concepts, think outside the box

Agreed with all your examples except the first one - if everyone would be capable of summoning and binding to their will a lesser daedra like a Dremora/Xivkyn/Spiderkith/Shrike/etc., the Sorcerers should be given something more than the skills of summoning those scamps, clannfears and twilights. That would be fair. Because, thinking "outside the box" in some cases like this one can lead to violation of the lore - the very base and foundation of the Elder Scrolls world. The desires of some players to have, say, a Jedi companion, because it's "cool" or something, should not ruin the world we all like so much. Among all the classes the Sorcerers are the only experts at the School of Conjuration, so we should definitely be stronger in our sphere of expertise than anyone else. So, I disagree with that "Give us a Dremora/Xivkyn/Spiderkith/Shrike/etc. Companion" and I don't want it to be implemented like that.

They should at least be customizable. What's the point in having companions (which are mostly going to be for RP reasons considering most content is super easy) if everybody is running around with identical NPC's. It's just stupid imo. I also see suggestions on here for different creatures and although that would be awesome it's probably not going to happen. If they did add them they would probably be on the crown store like almost every mount in the game.

Captain, Remember they’ve pretty much already addressed this. When you are running a quest where an NPC adventures with you, you see other players as running around with some generic mercenary. In reality they are with the same character as you but they protect your immersion by you seeing something different.

As for me, I just want to see it grow into a game aspect with lots of depth even way beyond combat. Over time at least.
