Necros Restoring Tether breaks from everything

So I just started playing Necromancer and notices that the Restoring Tether skills is pretty much unusable if you don't fight on a flat open field.
It even breaks from a single tree. Not these big ones where you can actually hide behind, that would be fine, no these super small and thin birch in Imperial City.

If this is intended than I wonder why things like Wrath of the Elements goes through every wall no matter how thick but this breaks as soon as a fly crosses the beam...

Indeed, as a Necro Healer it is extremely annoying.

Any elevation change also disrupts the tether.
