Well the CP rework really got to me, also the armor rework.
All this talk about play how you want and you can only slot around 5 stars per category.

We all know it's going to be how it always was, people who play ESO for dungeons, trials and pvp they will always slot the meta. Even if there are 1000 stars, people who play hard content are going to run around with the same stars just as we now run around with the same skills.

Sure if you are a solo player running around like it's a single player game have at it, slot your "reduction to falldamage".

I just feel it, this is going to mess up our dps. And I mention dps because thats my roll for the last years, and Iv'e been working hard on it.

If the dps and the resistances stays the same, meaning for example groups who now struggle in vCR, but can clear it, will still be able to do that when all this goes live, and try to get their perfected gear I won't complain.

However if dps and thougness change so it's harder, and the groups who barely made vCR before now has no chance. Would make this update pure s***. Since they make something harder, and many who runs around with perfected gear wouldn't have gotten it if they where late to the power creep party CP 810 version 1.0.

Obviously I'm jumping to conclusions but this worries me more than make me happy.

Well, yeah... min-maxers gonna min-max. Doesn't matter what the game is, what the game systems are, min-maxers are going to min-max. They do it in tabletop RPGs, they do it in looter shooters, they do it in MMOs, and on and on.

For the rest of us? They'll be more choices, or so it is said. We'll see when we learn more.

True what you say, but for me who enjoys the multiplayer aspect of this multiplayer game would like choices aswell, a choice to play hybrid builds, a choice to slot different skills, a choice to have a redguard magsorc. Without getting slapped back in line.
Either you adapt to the meta or you get replaced by people who do :(

It'll just be more stars not to use.

They'll create the future hard modes so they're a challenge for the top players, which means that content will be laughably undoable for anyone who doesn't follow the meta.

We've got over a hundred gear sets in ESO, and endgame min-maxers only wear a few of them. CP will be no different.

"Play the way you want" doesn't mean that you can build any way you want and still be optimal no matter what you've done with your stats, your gear, and your skills. It doesn't even mean that every build can do all the content - just had a recent conversation with a tank miffed they couldn't do Vateshran on their tank build.

It means that every class can be viable, but not optimal, in every role.

I am still excited for making choices. It sounds like I can pick different cp from magicka dps when I am healer now.

Also I am tried of not carrying about my level up. It's been literally years.

Depends on who you run with. Find chill folks, and you don't need to adapt to anything. You can be who you are, and be appreciated for who you are. Back when I did more trials, the guild I played with didn't care I was running an unconventional tank so long as I could do the job. I did the job. Some of those who ran with more min-max competitive guilds were like "wait... templar tank? How is that working?" Because it does - just gotta give folks a chance. This guild was great at letting people do that. Be themselves, give folks a chance, have fun. Pick your company and you don't have to worry about folks slapping you back. ;)

I'm just happy the old system is gone. Now I can feel like it's (almost) a fresh start, I really wanna figure out the system for myself. At least for now. Time will tell.

I do dungeons, trials and PvP and I don't go for the meta now. And they did say the content you can do now you will still be able to do with the changes.

What this WILL do is allow for a 'free' CP respec moving forward.

If you're the type of player that does PvE AND PvP on the one character, this system will ensure that you can 'respec' your CP anytime out of combat for 'free'

This actually isn't a bad system at all when you think about it.

    I personally prefer it.

I did not catch that they said so, but if it's true its great. But not if "sure you can still do vCR if you bring your companions".

You would still prefer it if your pve dps went from 90-100k to 60k? Because thats what scares me.

I think what's important to realize is "ESO is an EASY GAME" and outside of leaderboards or high level PvP The meta simply isn't required to complete any of the games content.
Yes the Meta is a thing but this game makes it very easy to ignore it if you choose to and your build would have to be outright horrible to make this un true.
Maybe the closest thing to an exception are solo arenas where not all characters can be successful but that's legit les than 1% of this games content.

I agree if you are in a co-ordinated group. But I must ask you, have you ever used dungeon finder?
I sometimes jump on my tank and healer and I quickly remember why I don't PUG with them anymore. Most of the time People can't pull good dps, I'm not saying that to ve elitist but it is what it is. Dungeons taking forever or People in CP 500 using sword and shield as a dps, or dualwield on a magbild. The things Iv'e been through in this game helpong people makes eso a very difficult game.

Back when I tanked in for example FFXIV:ARR i never feared the dps couldn't clear the dungeon because of damage. Most if not all pulled damage it was the mechanic you had to explain. In eso thats not the case, not at all.
