Dual Spec

Has Dual Spec ever been considered in game? Basically the ability to switch between two different gear/CP/ability presets.

World of Warcraft has had this for 12 years and it is extremely useful for being able to switch between a tank spec and or a DPS spec and or a Healing spec and or a PVP/PVE spec.

I have been building a PVP character but I still need skill points from dungeons and I hate going into a dungeon and not being able to pull my weight. I am also farming sets, and sometimes those dungeons need to be vet for monster helms. Its tiresome switching out all my gear, replacing the various skills necessary and spending gold to remorph abilities sometimes multiple times a day. Being able to push a button and swap between two specs (out of combat) would be a huge quality of life implementation that makes me want to engage content (play the game) vs saying "awe screw it" and finding something else to do.

There are PC add ons apparently that do this, but as for ESO directly I have no idea why they don't do this (rip me on Xbox unable to use mods)

I absolutely agree though, as I actually go the route of making multiple characters to fill these class roles instead of wasting time swapping gear around as it's less frustrating. Downside, a bunch of characters I don't really want or need, but would rather do that instead.

I think the addons only swap gear and abilities, not CP or morphs.

I started doing the same as you, making new characters but quickly noticed how fast I can fill up my character roster and leaving me with no ability for future builds. I have already been deleting character as it is.

Yeah it doesn't handle CP and skills, but since CP rolls over and I can always buy Skyshards if I was too lazy to go find them (I'm not) then you can hit level 50 and get all your CP immediately on a new character...so...I don't know. I hate having characters I don't really want but have to get around this but here we are.

ESO really should consider some sort of multi-spec system, especially given they have multiple builds recommended on the skills tab anyway for people to follow.

My issue with CP (I am maxed) is the difference in CP allocation for any given build. CP will be different for a healer, for a DPS, tank and PVP. It's not exactly cheap (neither are morphs), and it actually discourages me from playing.

With the sheer amount of build's available in game, I am honestly surprised we don't already have a dual spec, or triple spec for that matter.

I'd also like to see the character slots upped to 30 or something.

Wish spec change system would be this chapters feature, it's probably the most requested thing up to date.

This. A lot of people, including Alcast, have been requesting that for a long time. They know we want it.

It would be nice but could kill the game. Alts would no longer be needed, no grinding etc game would die quicker.

if you really think dual spec would kill the game, then the game is not in a healthy place to begin with. other games have it, they are still around. sorry, but sound like a illinformed opinion

Alts are not needed already. I tank, dd and heal on the same character. I can pull 100k+ dps on the dummy and I got TTT as off-tank, on the same char, currently off-tanking on IR prog. I don't do any grind already. I just play the game. Right now it just costs me time and gold to respec between roles, a spec system would be pure QOL. Not sure how it would kill alts, people who want alts will keep making alts, it's not like you can change class.

There are way more other issues likely to kill the game. Alts can be needed for different reasons be it race choice, class or specific theme, even storage etc. I see it the other way, an easy ability to add more tanks and healers into the game where everyone and their mothers are dd's. More people would turn their heads to pvp also as you can always hear that people don't have space for pvp gear and don't want to respec cp and morphs every time they want to go Cyro/IC.

Ya, I don't understand their argument. If I could dual spec my characters, or even tri spec (two for PVE one for PVP), It would encourage me to make MORE alts because right now I am spending 4 character slots for one class. With my "other spec" alts of the same class, I am not inclined to farm undaunted on all of them, or sky shards. Being specific built, I dont need that stuff. But if I had the luxury of making more characters who are more unique, I would definitely spend more time grinding undaunted, mage book, psikjjic etc.

I'd like to see dual spec and no it certainly would not kill the game at all. There are plenty of people, myself included that switch between say DPS and Heals. It is just time consuming and costs gold every time you do it, is all.

Dual spec does not switch you from say Nightblade to Necromancer, as an example, so people who like playing different characters will still roll them.

Addons like AlphaGear can integrate with CP addons so it'll change that when you change build. While the game still forces you to visit a station to remorph skills / change attributes it won't every be able to do that, but most of the time you can work around not having one or two optimal morphs.

My main is a mag sorc with loadouts for healing, damage and tanking in PvE, and either support or damage for PvP. I don't change CP or skill morphs because I'm too cheap and I play in noCP exclusively. My CP is set up as a DD, and I can tank vet dungeons for pledges (and vet DLC non-HM). I've also healed vet DLC HMs. I have access to a house with all mundus stones so switching between those isn't really an issue either.

If it only will change gear and skills it already will be cool.
    No CP/hp/stam/mp change and etc.

I do not like addons and if all be just a game function it will be perfect.

As example i remove lazy writ crafter when they improve ingame function.

Becouse i only do it on 2-3 characters (for more i would use addon)

It is about how comfortable i can play that is all.

It will not change that my mana Dark elf DK is DD nord is Tank.

It just let me more comfortable run in world with less addons that is all :)

Unfortunatly i can not play with out some addons, need map as example.

I really have problems with orientation with out normal map. The same in real life too :) ....

Happy you do not have to change your CP, some of us do.
Also paying for remorphing 4 to 5 times a day because of the character being run through different content is not fun.

Addons will not solve the issue that so many crave. Only an in game offered dual spec that allows for two completely separate builds to be harnessed on one character...will.

I just use 2 characters and the same CP for all.To expensive to change it for me.

Just have a little more hp by triune glyphs and a little less dps.
