FPS drop when quest updates on screen?

I think this is an addon doing this because I turned off all addons and it did not do this, but i'v tried turning them all on/off and I can't figure out whats going on. Everytime I pick up an item or like destroy object and the text pops up on screen that updates the quest like it says "Destroyed 1/2 focus crystals" then my FPS will go from 100 to 3 for few seconds. It's really frustrating and I was hoping maybe someone had a suggestion? I can usually play any game on max settings at 1440p with no frame drop, but this game has given me fits.

M2 NVME ssd
RTX 2070 Super OC GFX
